HOST WHO WEAR BLACK

I KNOW HOST LOVE TO WEAR BLACK, HOWEVER BLACK DOES NOT SHOW DETAILS OF CLOTHING. PLEASE ALLOW HOST TO WEAR BLACK ONLY WHEN THEY ARE NOT SELLING CLOTHING. THE HOST ARE ON CAMERA DURING MOST OF PRESENTATIONS, THEY SHOULD BE CATERING TO QVC CUSTOMERS BY WEARING COLORS THAT PROMOTE DETAILS OF CLOTHING THEY ARE SELLING. JEN JEN, PAT AND ALL HOST THAT LOVE THEIR BLACK YOU ARE NOT DOING "YOUR" QVC CUSTOMERS, QVC OR DESIGNERS ANY FAVORS BY WEARING BLACK. HOST WHO ARE COLOR DEFICIENT IN WHAT COLORS LOOKS GOOD ON THEM PLEASE CONSULT WITH THE MANY QVC DESIGNERS, I AM SURE THEY WILL BE ABLE AND WILLING TO HELP YOU CHOSE COLORS THAT WILL FLATTER YOU. AFTER ALL IS SAID AT THE END OF THE DAY QVC IN THE BUSINESS OF SELLING CLOTHES!!

The hosts are aware that detail cannot be seen on black. I very seldom see them wear it since they are conscious of this. I don't consider this to be an issue at all.

This is a major issue. Black is boring QVC and prevents buying when details cannot be seen.

@grooms They have to SELL black as it's in demand but do you often see hosts wearing it? I dont.

This thread is a little confusing ..... When did they stop having the garments being presented on hangers and racks?

I haven't noticed any clothing shows where there aren't racks with the items presented on them, and at least one model.

Yes, black is a default color for many, but I have never seen JUST a host wearing black and no other options in the show.

Of course, you can always look at the item number online, as well.

I dont think the hosts chose what they wear or the colors. I believe that is up to the stylists. And at times the sizes for the hosts.

There was a time that they had the models wearing black, sometimes all black. Now that was aggravating and that is definitely the stylists choice. Its not as bad as it was but it still happens on occasion.

Pat. She often wears black and I 've seen threads condemning her for it @Kachina624 . She had it on this morning. Could the OP's thread be a coincidence?

Yes, first person I thought of was Pat, every time I see her on air she is in black, maybe not ALL black but something she is wearing is black!

I thought that was what the models were for, as well as the clothing on the hangers where they can zoom in with the camera without zooming in on somebody's body parts.

High end department stores used to require sales women to wear all black so not to clash with the clothing they were showing their customer. Unlike QVC salesperson they were there to showcase the clothing, not be the focal point, what a concept.

This most likely is not the case anymore as we are much more casual. Hosts in black don't bother me.

Models should wear the clothing in various sizes and salesperson's demonstrate the features in a light color to show details.

I guess this poster's opinion is what happens when the hosts are required to get too involved with modelling. Wearing a tank and putting on another shirt while the camera temporarily moves away. Possibly Pat has been employed by QVC for a long enough time and is a great host, that maybe she gets to say, okay, I will wear what I am selling, but I want to wear black. Good for her, if she has that clout. A lot of people choose to wear black or mostly black, all of the time. That is a person's choice and who are we to say they can not because it is boring.

@PAMELAB Please know that typing in all CAPS is equivalent to you screaming at us. I don't think that was your intention, though.

At least 100 times, I've seen black being the first item on a rack and the host deliberately move it to the back replacing it with a brighter color.

If the host isn't selling clothes, who cares what color she wears?

I do understand where the OP is coming from on her post. This morning both Pat and Leah wore practically all black, in clothes they were selling on air Both hosts are known to do this quite a bit.

However, it doesn't bother me at all. When they do get to the item(s) in question, they show it in the other colors, and there is a model there as well. Yes, if they are going to wear the clothes to model them also, why not pick a color that can show the details? Makes more sense, but again it doesn't bother me.

In the totality of it all, you still get a good enough look at the details from the full presentation.

I remember Lisa Robertson always wearing Black, but not black from head to toe. Pat James Dementri also wears black a lot, but again, not head to toe, so I don't think its a problem.

My husband told me I wear way too much black, and I never thought about it, but after surveying my closet and being very conscious of what I was wearing, I did indeed wear a lot of black, so I have made it a point to wear more color, and its fun!!!!!!!

I think a lot of people wear black because its supposed to be slimming!

For me it's not what the host wears but it's what they are showing. Sometimes they show stuff that is dark in color that it makes it difficult to see details. Some hosts know not to do that but there are some hosts that don't or it might just be that they don't have a lighter sample on the set, Q2 usually.

Can say that in particular one Host or 2 Hosts wears black on a pretty consistent basis .

I say let the models model. The models can show us the pockets and waist band - front and back of the garment .We only need the Hosts to give garment size ranges by showing a sizing chart , provide garment lengths and point out other design elements -and let the designer or Reps talk

I know they tend to wear black and/or jeans because they can change tops of different colors. I have no problems with them wearing black. Models are there to show other colors a nd they show each color of pants an overabundance of times. If I need to view another color, there is always online.

It can be a problem and not just with hosts swathed in black, when they put models in black, you can't really see the garment and when it's a black top over black black pants. Forget about it. I noticed that HSN dies that a lot with the larger plus size models on their DG2 shows.

The hosts are hosts not models, customers can see garment details online.

What I don't like is the short video when the item is not presented and the color the model wears in the video is black. Have no idea what the item really looks like.
