Why so much for shipping?

I like QVC but would purchase more items if the shipping prices were better. Wanted to order the holiday gift wrap bags for $17 which seems like a good deal but then almost $7 for shipping? That makes it not such a good deal especially when SO many other companies are offering FREE shipping. Get with the program QVC and offer free or at least discounted shipping. I don't even care if it takes a day or two longer for the shipping. It's not a value on the item when you jack up the shipping

Lots of other companies charge even more for shipping. Or they charge by order value, the more you order, the more expensive shipping is. Amazon Prime isn't free (but it is fast, which I appreciate).

It's the holiday shopping season. They know we have to purchase presents, though we certainly don't have to purchase here... Still, in as much as their shipping is always high and has long been known to be a source of profit for them, I guess they figure they'll really kick it up for the holiday season and make as much as they can from it. Retail overall relies on the holiday shopping season to maximize profit. It's unfortunate that QVC rarely seems to do so by offering customers any real incentives or actual deals.

I agree also. I recently started shopping at QVC again after a five year hiatus, but I'm done. The shipping is just too high. With the exception of clothing, I have been able to find almost everything else they sell for less money at other sources. Often times it's the expensive shipping that makes the difference. When I saw $7.74 to ship a scarf I decided to start looking elsewhere.

We have been complaining about Q's shipping charges for years! Nordstrom even has free shipping & free returns. If the Q doesn't do something about their shipping charges soon, I predict their sales will plummet. There are many companies that sell the same items as the Q, unless you want something like Quackery Factory!

I agree just got 3 things and my s & h was about 13.00 crazy........... no i'm stupid for buying on here lol but my fault, should of waited for black fri. or cyber mon maybe they'll be offering free s & h......

Maybe QVC could do half-shipping if they can't do free shipping. For example, if an item has $10 worth if shipping, maybe it could be cut in half to $5.

Just an idea....not even sure if it's a good one.

There are many things that I would have purchased over the 20+ years I have been a QVC customer...but did not due to the ridiculous shipping and handling charges. Reduce these charges and for goodness sakes, give us coupons promo codes like so many of the other retail companies!!!

I whole heartedly agree! HSN's S/H fees are generally half the price. QVC's outrageous shipping charges for inexpensive items has detoured me from buying more things. When the total charge is 1/3 more than the item cost, I don't consider it to be a good value.

QVC needs to remove the "V" from its name.

I could not agree more! The shipping charges really stop me from ordering. and I like a lot of the products QVC has to offer. But that shipping charge is out of control.

The Q promoted a pretty ruffled very long scarf that I liked and at a good deal of $l9.99. Then, I checked the S&H, and it was $6.99, plus I pay 8% tax. No thank you. I can find it elsewhere.

Yeah for all the money they make they need to cut the cost down on shipping. Almost every online retailer have way cheaper shipping. When I shop at Amazon i don't get charged different shipping for every item in my cart and they offer free shipping on orders over 35.00

QVC has less & less viewers watching or buying; sooo they need to make a profit margin by gouging those who are still loyal to QVC w/the s/h charge.
