Hosts are Hosts- Models are Models

Back in the day hosts would wear and outfit from the clothing line they were presenting and the models would model the clothing line. Now, the hosts leave for a few minutes to change into a different color or outfit. I see absolutely no reason for this! Please, give the facts of the item; the material, color, sizing, etc. Let the models, model. When I'm watching and they start this, I turn the channel. One host who I really enjoy watching started doing this last week. I shop online more and more.

The more bodies an item is viewed on, the more customers will be able to judge how it might fit them.

So what? How many bodies do yo need to see in a piece of clothing? I like to hear the specifications of an item before I purchase the item.

Yes, hosts could give more details instead of taking the time to change. I suspect they are told to do so by their producers.

Depending on the host size, one thought is with QVC using more plus size models, hosts might be showing how the clothing looks on smaller sizes, so, yes, they are becoming models themselves. Maybe, it's a cost cutting thing.

Also, customers might be calling in to ask where are the small size models.

I don't know, but hosts are doing this for some reason.

I don't see anything wrong with hosts modeling the clothing IF it suits them. But lately I have seen too many hosts wearing items that were not flattering for their body types. I wonder if they are forced to do so. Certainly not every item of clothing is right for every body.

"Back in the day" people would complain that the hosts were NOT wearing the clothing being sold; they had their own wardrobe and felt they were too good to wear the QVC clothing. So fast forward to now. Things change over the years. For me it's very difficult to purchase when they are showing all large/plus size models showing the clothing. They don't seem to be as "inclusive" as they say.

Yesterday, Kerstin had to leave for an outfit change because the shirt she was wearing was buttoned up wrong (buttons misaligned with buttonholes). She was filling-in for Carolyn on D&C. Gary asked if she'd gotten dressed in a hurry; they both had a good laugh. At any rate, Gary filled-in ably for Kerstin while she was off-screen.

What?! Hush your mouth. QVC wants you to think every item works for every body type, thus all the really stretchy fabrics.

I don't mind seeing the hosts modeling the clothes, as long as they are still giving out the pertinent info!

I don't feel like they have to change into everything they are showing, but it doesn't bother me either.

It is somewhat refreshing to see some other body types other than the same models!

Sometimes the hosts has to swap out what they're wearing because the color or the item sold out.

Or it could be they're getting a prompt from the producer to change because an item/color isn't selling.

Or they just like to play dress up.

Serious question.

They are never going to give the measurements of all the sizes...I have to go online and look at the chart for that.

XXS-5X? How could they read all those measurements...and then there might be petites and talls.....I do often hear the lengths for all varities..

They show the colors usually...and close up of the garment details like pockets etc....

I agree I don't want to hear about families, where to wear or even how to wear....but what else that would impact a decision to purchase is missing?

Maybe if it runs true to size? But that is an opinion really...Might fit Amy great, but tight for me....

It's an "appeal to host" sales technique. If a viewer likes a particular host or how that host looks wearing/"modeling" the item, the viewer may be more likely to purchase that item. It seems that usually whatever color the host is wearing "will be the first to go" or "is flying out...

I assume it must be good for QVC sales stats or else they wouldn't do it.

Hosts doing modeling bothered me @ first but I'm ok with it now. I just wish hosts would give the information I need to decide if I want to purchase. I need to know measurements and information about the fabric. If hosts are going to model, how about models doing some hosting? My vote goes to Blair.

Hosts can change clothes 20 times in 20 minutes for all I care. I just want to hear specifics on sizing, colors, fit, length, etc etc.

I , personally, think they should have one or the other!!! Models come in all shapes and sizes, hire accordingly!!!!!
