Time to stop drinking the "Q-ool-aid"

Many items being sold on QVC can be found on other sites such as Amazon, Zappos, etc. and often at better prices and much lower or free shipping/returning shipping costs. Not to mention a lot quicker shipping and returns credited. QVC's service is awful and prices too high but until customers stop putting up with it, they won't get any better.

Also, shopping in good ole, brick and mortar stores is helpful to support the local economies, jobs, taxes, etc. Remember the joy of trying on before buying, and finding fabulous sales like Macy's offer where many times a $100+ item can be gotten right then and there for $15 and NO SHIPPING COSTS!

I am paying for cable TV channels to be brainwashed by a shopping channel (if you watch sales pitches over and over and over that you must have that shark, or philosophy, or dooney & burke, or those horrible skinnie tees, you robotically order sooner or later)!? Time to wake up. Save some money, time, frustration, burn some calories walking thru the local shops. Get that instant gratification of buying something and getting it at the same time.

For better physical, emotional and fiscal health, it's time to dump the Qool-aid, turn that TV off, and get off that computer. Go make some real friends, the hosts are not you friends. They manipulate and lie to you. You probably have more stuff than you need anyhow.

Whew, that felt liberating!

You make a lot of good points. I also find many items that QVC sells are available elsewhere for less money, even when they claim that no other retailer can beat their price on an item. A lot of times that is simply not true. It's also the shipping charges that bother me, but the main reason that stops me from making a purchase from QVC is the blatant attempts of the sales people to manipulate the viewers and play fast and loose with the truth. I absolutely refuse to support a sketchy sales pitch.

Frankly, home shopping has left me no choice but to investigate other shopping resources, both on-line and by leaving the house and actually returning to doing most of my shopping 'live and in person'. The dismal, dreary, boring and repetitive array they're offering here simply isn't any longer palatable... I used to enjoy TV based home shopping, but it would appear their oft touted 'business plan' took care of that. And yes, then there are the matters of less than competitive pricing and shipping, though I don't usually have a problem with timely receipt of items ordered, returns or credits back.

I can get what I need at stores. After trying every brand at Q I can't find pants that fit, the waist is too big. Unless I get skin tight pants, the pant keep following down. I like the tops but can those elsewhere, also.

(A) I always try to shop competitively (B) I've not had a particular problem with either shipping times or getting a return credit, but I'm pretty patient. My experience with customer serVice has been very positive. Frankly, I'm one demanding cookie when it coMes to customer service. Not that I always expect to get my way,i do expect a company to be available, responsive, and wiLling to work with me, to resolve problems. Haven't had to use customer service often, but I've been pleased. If I hadn't I would Have been long gone! (C). I've never felt brainwashed, but, I give myself more credit. No matter where I'm buying, saLespeople have a job to do and that's fine, my job is to guard my bank account, so I take sales spiels, with a grain of salt. (D) they're probably very nice people, but, I have friends and no, I Don't imagine that TV salespeople are among them (E) I regularly turn off my TV and computer, I try to get reasonable exercise, and I pay for Cable TV because of the programming choices, of which home shopping is at the bottom of the heap. But thanks for the advice. BTW, am I the only one, much more prone to impulse buys, at the B&M stores?. I mean it's right that, you can grab it and go home. If I'm ordering, I'm much more cautious!

I bought an item from Amazon with free S&H. I liked it so much I ordered one for my brother's birthday gift wrapped. I got free S&H; I got 5% off for my Visa. I paid both with points from my Visa. Total = NOTHING.
