Suggestion for the forums

Now that QVC has decided to keep them, how about streamlining them. Cut the number of topic categories. Combine related categories. For example one topic called Fashion & Accessories ( clothes, shoes, handbags). Combine Kitchen Home and Recipes into one.
There are threads started on the same subjects in multiple topic categories. It gets tedious trying to find and keep up with posts when they are so spread out. For example let's say a TSV is a purse. The comments are often found under the tsv heading, as well as Handbage, and Fashion. Eliminate the forum categories that are typically not well populated and stay stagnant without many new posts.

@smoochy - I understand what you're saying, but I would definitely NOT want to have combined categories. For example, I spend a good amount of time in the Kitchen forum, but I have no real interest in or need for the Recipes forum, and the Home forum discusses a very broad range of topics for good reason, so if I were only interested in kitchen-specific threads, I'd really have to dig to find them if things were consolidated.

But regardless of my personal preferences, the moderators have let us know over the years that it is actually not possible to change the arrangement of the forums; they've been set up in a way that makes them impossible to adjust given their technology. So any requests for adding or removing categories or alphabetizing or restructuring will, unfortunately, just remain as suggestions.

Don't count on any changes being made. Based on a letter from the Q leadership that someone else posted on another thread, the decision to close the forums wasn't reversed just postponed till after the new year.

Be thankful for what you have now. Imo, these boards won't be here much after the first of the new year.

To be perfectly honest it's not a big deal to me, whether the forums stay or go. I have other ways I like to spend time.

Well good for you @smoochy . However, that's not the case with everyone. Many have been on here for years and rely on the friendship.

If they close boards in 2022, then they will be back again to losing customers. One day at a time....let them "evolve"....customer satisfaction means a lot...they don't want bad PR. The core group of customers have been around a long time. It is very important for seniors who can't get out often to shop or those who live in remote areas. I don't see younger people jumping on board. I know many young people in their 40's and they have no interest in QVC shopping. The boards provide a continued friendship connection for many people shopping here and my guess is most are 50 and up.

Young people are not going to hang out watching the Q! Like watching water drip. They can go after the young, but the Q better not make the mistake of losing the mature. That would be a huge mistake. They have money and they spend money. Much more than their young clientele.

I wouldn't have wasted any of my time watching and buying from the Q when I was young. Too much out on the Internet and in the world for the Q to hold the attention of the young and rich!

@San Antonio Gal how do you know the forums will close in 2022? Did QVC confirm this? I read the "We heard you" they posted and I agree it sounds like they are only leaving the boards open until they can get their FB pages up & running successfully, I just wanted to know how did you know when the they will close.
