How exactly does advanced orders work ?

I realize the credit card won't be actually charged till tbe item ships , but will the charge be pending on my cc and then fall off till shipment takes place ? I guess what I'm wondering about is will a pending charge be put on my cc at the initial ordering? I know it won't be charged till it ships .

I have a couple of advance orders right now and my credit card has NOT been charged or even noted as pending. They access your account when they process the order.

Isn't the duration of a pending charge dependent on the bank/credit card company issuing the card? Some have pending charges drop off after two or three days, others I heard can hold funds seven days or more.

@World Traveler I'm hoping that's how it works , I've never paid that much attention but with so many advanced orders I'll have to really do that .

@Etoile308 It probably is up to the cc company. I know my pending charges are usually 2 days .

@Kitty Galore I have never seen a pending charge until the item shipped. I often choose to wait to order some items until they are offered on Advanced Delivery or a host actually announces there will be no Advanced Delivery. N0 problems.
