kaydee50, normally I would agree with that rule but I have gone to the outlet store or taken a chance when something is on clearance and been pleasant surprised with the garment when the size was right. Maybe I shouldn't complain because I saved money doing it that way but I passed on purchases that I wondered about because the cost of shipping back is too expensive to take a lot of chances. Anyway thanks for your input!

Demonstrate fit, not size!

I am a big busted, full size person so this is not a slight to the larger models. This is about proper fit. When you demonstrate fashion please have the models where things that fit properly, not just go by their QVC size. It looks terrible when the model is wearing something that pulls at the bust, is so cropped that they have to keep pulling down at the bottom to cover their stomach or they won't show the back because it is clinging in the rear. If they aren't comfortable or look like they are wearing something that is too tight, it's gonna be a hard pass for me. I want to see clothing that will be flattering on my body type and I guage that on what they are wearing. I am okay if you tell me because of the cut, go up a size for it to fit across the chest or for a full backside but show that on the models so I can see it as well. I just watched a program where the host says go up but the model is in her QVC size and the garment fit is so terrible that I can't imagine how it will look going up a size.

My rule of thumb--if it doesn't look good on the models, for whatever reason, it is not going to look good on me so it's an easy pass.

I think we need to take in consideration that they are mostly samples and each persons demention maybe different just like you. I think some moderls prefer to wear a certain fit to keep from looking to large on screen. I understand how you feel about that but remember the stylist can pull the garments but if the model is not comfortable with it that is another problem. The only person I know who is really in to fit is Renee, because she was a fit model and she work at trying to give you the best fit possible. So we just have to use our better judgement but I am bottom heavy and I am so over slim fitting pants.

They need to show how things look from the back. If the models ever do turn around, they nervously look back at the monitor at themselves and instantly turn back around. It seems like that would be included in their job description so whether it makes them uncomfortable shouldn't be an issue. Lots of ladies need to see if the garment clings or shows things they may not want to show.

QVC has samples sizes for the hosts and models. They do not have every size available .

If the plus size model is a size 1x, which most of them are, then that is the size that they have available. If it is too tight on the model that should telll you that if you are a 1x. Order up a size. The garmet runs small.

Great thread addressing my biggest QVC fashion complaints -

--please have the models move around in the clothes, show us the back.

--Why are the models, hosts and vendors constantly pulling their tops down. Captain Picard did that in Star Trek too! Trying to smooth out wrinkles and pretend garment doesn't cling to the body?

-- Don't tell us that you are not closing the jacket because that is how you would wear it. Sometimes they claim this with coats, as if wearing an open coat in freezing weather made any sense. At least some buttons need to be fastened if one is to do any walking while carrying a purse. Failing to do any fastening while walking will cause the jacket to move around from its proper position. In the real world wearing jackets that one can't fasten means that one is too fat. Maybe the jackets are poorly designed so the shoulders are too big if the jacket fits around the waist! I want to know. Wear the size that fits, and tell us where it fits too big or too small for you!

I also think anyone purchasing a garment needs to look at the measurements and also the style of the outfit. We can't all fit into an item being shown. Lots of returns going on because the consumer is being tricked into thinking that item of clothing will work for them when they already know it won't.

I see things I wish I could wear but can't so I stick with the things that work best for me. I rarely return an item unless the measurements listed are way off once received but usually just exchange.

Not all designers clothes on QVC works for me. I know who's clothing line works the best for me but doesn't mean everything they sell does.

When I shop brick and mortar I do my experimenting of different styles then. Sometimes I am pleasantly surprised and other times no way. I look around and I like a good bargain on clothes.

I never purchase pants on QVC and I like trying them on first. Tops, layering pieces and shoes mainly. But shoes less and less because the sizing is off more than they use to be in brands I could always rely on. They seem to cheapen up the TSV in order to keep a low price point.

I never understood why all the shopping networks use height and size to demonstrate fit. I wear anywhere from a 2X to a 4X depending on the brand and I look up the garment measurements to determine the best size. I'm also 5'8 and long-waisted, so things will fall on me differently than someone who is the same size but shorter. And not all of us are built the same.

However, at least HSN and Shop HQ will tell you to size up or down, and Shop HQ models and hosts also demonstrate this. They tell if you if they had to put on a different size or if the sample size isn't their correct size. I've avoided returns thanks to them saying that on air. But not on QVC, and the stylists squeeze everyone into smaller sizes thinking a tighter fit is better, when most of the time it's not. There have been lots of times when I've seen models, missy or plus, that could have benefited from going up a size.

UPDATE:

When watching today's D and Co. show, everyone seemed to be showing the tummy area on the pants.

Model Aieda kept her top tucked in the front, so we could see the waist band.

Also, the video model did the same.

Maybe our comments are being read, etc.

Great job, Q and models!

Check out the new, cute D&Co Skimmers! Nice colors and fit, imo. Not too tight, etc.

It doesnt have to do with available sample sizes, one of the hosts explained on air what the Stylists have told the hosts is that a garment that fits close to your body makes one look thinner....SMH.. It seems that the Q stylists dont know much about fitting a garment PROPERLY!!!....

And Im sorry with pants and tops so tight you can see every lump and pump and the models cant even button jackets and sweaters that certainly does NOT entice sales and is a big TURN OFF to prospective customers...

Putting a model in whatever size is available due to limited sample sizes doesnt even make sense (as some suggested)....🙄 Samples may not be available for the host to wear from the sample display rack--- thats why the hosts need to leave modeling to the models (the hosts are the ones that will grab any size thats on the display rack and wear an improper size).....

And I have to laugh at one vendor in particular that says....(referring to the model) "doesnt she look fabulous"....nope, clothes that fit like a second skin does not look appealing nor attractive...when was the last time they got their eyes checked...😄

I agree!!!!

I want to see how the item fits in the back.

Does it cling? How long is it?

The models rarely turn around and if they do, it's for a second.
