Get some sincerity into the hosts

Honestly watching or listening to them is uncomfortable. They are especially phoney when taking calls, forcing their one way to answer this question on callers, not really tuning into what people say or even repeating it correctly. Getting on and off the call so fast, why did they take it. This is what you call BS, dont make us listen, stop the phoney behavior. It is so suffocating. And, also the parts these hosts play, as if they created on air charactuers of themselves and they must keep it going..phoney phoney phoney. I can tell when a host is being real and when they are so full of themselves it is taking over the show and its about a 50/50 so you have some work to do QVC.

Yes, I agree, Spunky. Some of the hosts are so obviously phony that you almost feel embarrassed for them. I wonder if they realize how obvious and uncomfortable it is when they force enthusiasm and gush over vendors and their products.

There may be a few who do some of what you say, but my PERSONAL OPINION is that most of them are fairly real. To name a few, Carolyn Gracie, Sandra Bennett, Nancy Hornback, Mary Beth Roe, Antonella Nester......and others.

They are in sales, after all, so there are certain things they have to do. But overall, I like and enjoy most of them, and I don't think they're being insincere at all. Of course, I'm sure it gets old, doing the same thing day after day...which happens to most of us in a job. They have personal lives, and I'm sure they have problems, just as the rest of us do, and I doubt that it's always easy to seem sincere on air when you've got more serious things on your mind. Just think if we all had to do our jobs on camera for millions of people every day - how would we come across?

I want to see what is being presented, I don't care what the host says, if I find her or him too annoying I just turn the sound off. I watch with the sound off a lot lately.

We all have to do things for our jobs that we don't particularly care for and sales people probably more so but their jobs depend on sales.

I worked in high end retail sales, all thru college, and for a short time, while I was doing my dietary internship.

"There are times, when I had someone ask me"what do you think about this dress"? Sincere might have been, "that is one of ugliest dresses I've ever seen" But, I wasn't the epitome of fashion sense, not everone shared my taste, and clearly the customer didn't!.

I'd try to find a postive or say, "what do you think about it, how do you like that drop waist" or, "the color is unique, isn't it; we also have it in some more basic shades you might want to look at, and we have another similiar style that has a more traditional waist line, let me grab that and see if you might want to try that one for comparison, while I'm at it, let me grab the dress you're looking at, in navy, too. That would be a really good color for you."

Translation, "if you really want to spend your money on such hideous styles, maybe I can help you at least not look like you're suffering from a fatal illness in that mud grey, and a drop waist is going to make your legs look 2" long. " No matter what they say, no customer wants that kind of blatant honesty.

I always take sales spiels with a grain of salt. I'm pretty sure that VW salesman might be fudging just a bit, when he tells you he would rather drive his beetle that a Mercedes.

If you are going to take the time to start a thread to complain to QVC , the least you could do is BE SPECIFIC, so the problem could be addressed!

What good is it to write a thread that will be vague and meaningless?

I think they're doing the best they can considering they're on T.V. Jimmy Fallon, Ellen, Katie, aren't real sincere either....LOL! Who cares.....it's television. Nobody on T.V. is going to be best friends with us.

It seems to me that some people make the ugly remarks they do just to see how much of a reaction they can get - otherwise why joke about it?

Absolutely true, and yet there was a time when they did seem interested and t least somewhat sincere. Now, they just seem to become more frantic and phony by the day.
