Temporary Coronavirus Forum?

Is it possible MODS to have a temporary forum devoted to this pandemic? Since it does affect us all, and we can get and share information that may help us.

The wellness forum gets overlooked by many so we could combine that forum with CC to keep from repeating old news concerning this very important topic.

I think it's better to get information from the CDC website or your local news...

I am on other forums and the amount of misinformation is scary....

There were people who said drinking rubbing alcohol would kill it and taking alcohol baths kept the virus off you........and some people believed it!!

I agree that it would be nice to have all the threads about that topic in the same section, but I think if that forum were created, most posters would continue to post the threads in the forums they've been using instead of using a newly created forum.

I understand why you want a temporary forum. However, the biggest issue is mis-information. There are so many false reports and I could see those spreading in a forum. We need to rely on the CDC and medical professionals for information.

At work we were told that the state has released that the best website for our updates for current information about Cornavirus is DHEC (in South Carolina it's SCDHEC).

Of course, there's always potential for misinformation, but a new Coronavirus forum would just be a chance to put all of the currently posted information in the same spot rather than having it spread out throughout the Q community. I like that idea for a couple of reasons: 1) easy to find all topics at once; 2) other forums might return to normal. Again, I like the idea of having a Coronavirus forum, but I'm not so sure everybody would use it since we've already had off-topic threads in various forums that were posted there because that's where the OPs usually post.

Yes please, please. Those of us or should I say me that is not obsessed with the flu would like to be able to read other posts without it. It has creeped into several forums.

The mods have stated before that there will be no new forums added (no matter what the topic). I honestly think the QVC website is so fragile, tinkering with it would bring it down .

When I wrote about a temporary forum it was to free up space on Community Chat and NOT to replace true medical news from the CDC.

Plus why should we expect QVC or any company to spend additional money and labor resources on something that has ZERO to do with QVC products. We are lucky there is a free forum and allowed to post on most other topics besides shopping, politics and some religions.

Free to us costs the hosting site money. Be grateful it's easy to skip over topics if you don't want to read them.

Agree with a lot of the posts. Wish the MODS would move all the threads pertaining to the virus to the Wellness Forum. If people are interested enough they will read the posts there. Too many different threads on the topic. Sometimes you need a break from seeing or hearing about the virus for a little while. If the threads were moved to the Wellness Forum we could get that reprieve.

I read constantly on the wellness forums people who do not have any medical training giving out medical advice. I agree with the other poster about getting information from the news who are doctors who know what they are talking about. I do not blame the moderators at all if they think it is the right thing to get rid of these threads.

I see that that my original post is misunderstood! My suggestion was not to give medical advice but to share concerns and information that we have read, heard or seen. There are dozens of threads now devoted to the virus on three forums, it was my thought to temporarily have a forum devoted to the subject, that's all!

I'd be in favor of it as it'd give people who are either completely overwhelmed by the enormous number of threads or totally uninterested in them (I'm not saying that they don't care, I'm saying that they're probably doing a very healthy thing by staying away from them) a way to avoid them.

Yes, it's easy to say "scroll on by", but many of those threads have titles like "what would you do" or "opinions, please" or some such thing and you have no way of knowing what they're about until you open them.

i'm going to be blunt. There's way too much misinformation being shared here and it only adds to the confusion and frenzy. Posts that say "I heard" or "I read" or "I saw it on Facebook" or "an offical said', and then contain incomplete or inaccurate information. If you can't substantiate it with a source, than don't post it as "news". And don't say "there's no canned soup in the grocery stores". There may not be in the one you went to, but that's it. Again, it contributes to the frenzy.
