Between the air-kissing and the "hi honeeeey" it's all such a phony act. I know there are more technical things offered that might need someone more specialized to explain things, but it seems that there is one for everything offered.......I used to love it when shows host cooked eggs and cheese in the old T-FAL, or demonstrated the products themselves.

No, it's really not, and more times than not, all they do is get in the way! There are a few vendors that actually add to the proceedings. Most of them are just excess baggage.

the vendors do not get a chance to do their job....telling us about the product they brought...the HOsts are too busy doing all the talking or interrupting if the vendor tries to share a thought....

in the wee hours of this morning I had the Q on and there was Alberti...usually the breathe of fresh air...no...wrong...they were showing something for our T.V.'s....I forget what it was...and Alberti wouldn't shut up....the vendor...can't remember his name....kept trying to speak and Alberti kept right on talking....

I was so disgusted to see Alberti succumb to the other Host antics....I changed the channel and never went back ...

If the vendors can't tell us anything...they look like dummies on the set...why bother if the Hosts think they are smarter then the person who actually brings it in....

I truly don't see where most vendors add to most presentations. Let the hosts do their job and cut back on the vendors unless they truly have anything significant to add, provide some sort of entertainment function or have a great deal of personal appeal, (and most of them don't)..., which might help sell the product. By doing so, no need for the hosts to interrupt, unless they can find a way to interrupt themselves... and actually, I can think of at least one who often does! When it gets right down to it, so many of the vendors aren't vendors at all, they're paid vendor representatives (or QVC staff), essentially spokes-models, and I guess I don't feel most of them serve much purpose.

I would probably watch more if they cut down on the number of people on air at the same time. Sometimes there are 2 hosts and a vendor, and IMO that isn't necessary.

Sometimes I'd prefer to hear from the vendor and wish they'd move the host off camera. Vendors like Louis Dell Olio, Bob Mackey, and Laura Geller know their stuff and are capable of going solo. Why not just let them talk and rely on the on-screen availability guides and product info? I'd like to see them try that!

Although he doesn't appear, Dr. Perricone is a vendor. Dana Bledsoe is a paid spokesperson who tells us theoretically what he would want us to know. The truth of the matter, though, is that most of the hosts selling cosmetics probably know as much about Perricone products as does she... Personally, she's one of those I don't feel adds a great deal to the proceedings, though certainly not the only one I think they could do very nicely without. It's nothing personal and no, I'm not bashing. Just stating a point of view!

I sometimes wonder if the proliferation of more or less meaningless vendors/reps has coincided with the new Q approach of seemingly endless presentations of the same few products... It's a way to 'spell' the hosts, at least a bit, given they now have to go on for fifteen minutes to half an hour, sometimes longer, about a single product. In most instances, it's one of a handful of the same products they've presented many, MANY times...

One thing that really bothers me and takes up needless time is the constant stumbling over colors.......whether it's shoes, purses, or clothes, they never can give the colors without being confused over which color is which............just tag the merchandise and then (hopefully) the host can READ IT OFF THE TAG!!!

Too many hosts talk over the vendors (which I find insulting), so it is not always vital that vendors appear.

Other vendors don't seem to know a lot about the products they're associated with, so they are really not needed.

And then there's the D&C vendor, who's appeared seemingly out of nowhere, who I really don't think has a whole lot to do with the product. He is also not necessary.

The point is that, most times, the host can present products alone. I agree that it does give them a bit of a break (unless they don't let the vendors speak), but that's about it.

Instead of having the host on for three hours hawking products, maybe they should cut it down. A vendor is sometimes necessary just to insert facts the host might miss or to give the host a break from non stop talking.

It appears many hosts don't allow the vendor time to talk and in that case it is a waste to have a vendor. But there are those hosts who work well with vendors and both add to the selling of an item.

I've always enjoyed having the creator or vendor of a product on with the host. However, I don't like having two or three hosts on together and feel that is terrible, useless, boring and needlessly costly. I don't enjoy every vendor or rep. I want them to be knowledgeable and "able" to transfer their expertise. Educating on a product is something you do not receive in B&M. Along with this, I also enjoy fashion being modeled, also something you do not see in B&M. I'm not interested in knowing any of them, just want some professionalism and knowledge. I find my entertainment elsewhere.

I've often wondered how much it costs to have these vendors come in for what is many times a five minute presentation. Unless it's something technical, I think the hosts should be able to handle presentations themselves.

While they aren't needed the only times that I can see having one. Is if the vendor is new to QVC or if they are going be the only guest in the show, but if its going to be for one or two hits on a show like PM Style... there is no reason for a guest.

What gets me is they tout them as experts, but several started out presenting one type of item now they have them being a guest for something totally different or are former models and hosts. The home reflections guest used to present the Motto clothing line, one of the Northern Nights guests now fills in for Renee Greenstein, the HP guest is a former model.

What gets me is having 3 or 4 people standing up there to sell a product. Could that possibly be cost effective? I don't think so !

It's idiotic and it's nerve-wracking too. Of course, it's not cost effective. They could cut back on some of this nonsense and lower shipping costs!

I agree. Plus too many people on at once is irritating especially when they talk over one another. Not to mention the awkwardness and waste of time with all the kissing. Also, I would think the vendors are not paid by QVC, but get their pay from the company that owns the product. It is true that some reps (Like Jan Muller, MaryLouise, Eric, MarkCharles, etc.) do represent many brands. Also when the rep is the "inventor" of an item, I doubt QVC pays them to come on. They must be happy to have the opportunity to showcase their product and sell a lot and become well-known.

It's possible that vendors appearing during a presentation might be a contractural issue. Jeanne Bice for Quacker, Liam for Orthoheel, Dr. Rob for Clarisonic , Jamie Lima and Mally. These vendors will always be on, especially if they are instrumental to the formation of the product; I agree that we do 't need the paid representative. Frankly, I prefer to hear what the formulation of the product has to say.
