Mr. Christmas Suggestion

I was surprised that Mr. Christmas didn’t start offering its ceramic trees in white with white lights this year. They’ve been offering these trees for the last two years with colored lights, but never in white. I grew up with a white tree with white lights, so I know they were popular during the 60’s and 70’s, too. Look at which items sold out first in today’s TSV, White lights! Please make trees like this for next year in various sizes and sets.

I love that idea and hope Mr. Christmas will do a white light tree. Sounds good to me and it would be different and would sell I'm sure.

@Mary Bailey @spiderw Thanks, ladies! My heart jumped s little when I googled “white ceramic tree with white lights” when I saw and instantly got nostalgic when seeing the clear star on top. That was how my mom’s was, and I think it’s essential to the look of the white tree with clear lights

Never heard of this combination. White on white .... lacks something. Oh yeah, color.

@rms1954 To each her own. Lots of people decorate with winter white with white lights. I decorate with golds, reds, greens, etc., but I can also appreciate class and good taste when I see it. Just like my mother had when she decorated with this tree. It brought my family and me a lot of joy back in the day. I’m sorry that your need to put it down eclipses your ability to appreciate its beauty and my experience with it.

No need to take it so personal and dramatic. It was not my "need" to put it down. It was just my opinion and that's about it. I appreciate beauty but I just didn't feel it with this tree.

@MaryLamb I never grew up with these sentimental ceramic trees; I love the stories behind them, but the tree itself is never something I would buy today. Until your idea! I love it in white with white lights! I think it's absolutely lovely, and lends itself to more decorating options.

Good idea, I'd be interested in buying if offered on QVC. Yea, vaguely remember seeing ceramic trees in the 60's & 70's.

Back in the 70s I took up ceramics, I use to make all my holiday decorations, and even made gifts for friends and family. I made countless number of these trees and gave them as gifts to people. I would find out if they wanted a white one or green one without them knowing I as asking ... lol.

The first time I saw a white one, is when a family friend made one for my Grandmother back in the 60s, it was a Mother of Pearl, she put blue lights on it.

I just ordered one from Amazon...Milltown Merchants has 2 sizes - small (6.75" tall, including star) and medium (11.5" including star) - both have white cords.

I like this suggestion, @MaryLamb! Our holiday traditions didn't include miniature ceramic trees, so that's something I've encountered only in more recent years. Also, with our full-sized Christmas trees I was always more of a fan of the green tree with a random array of multicolored lights and ornaments. Brings back nice memories. Yet for some reason I'm really charmed by these white-on-white trees in your images. Thanks for sharing this!
