Too Much Talk About Price

Dear QVC,

I know that this has been brought to your attention repeatedly, but it is a big issue to your loyal customers, and it has yet to be corrected.

The purpose of a lengthy presentation is to point out details of the items not constantly mentioning the price. I walk away from many presentations with more questions than answers. On a pendant, for example, they may not show the back of it or give the size of the bail (important if you want to change out chains) or sometimes even measurement of the pendant itself. Yet, the constant talk of the price takes up much time. Some hosts are way over the top with this, as you are well aware.

I find this very condecending and in some cases infuriating!

When the hosts do this, it's an over-sell and I, then, find it difficult to believe a word out of their mouths.

@Merciful One I agree. I think customers are very well aware of what they feel comfortable with spending for an item.

They do talk about price too for me me but it does not take away from product details. It's 2018 and anyone who is posting here has a computer or a tablet. So, go online and look up all the product details. You can even do some comparison shopping while the host is presenting the item. I do that, many people do that. we don't just hope they get around to telling is what we need to know, we get it ourselves.

I agree that many presentations do not provide enough detail (and jewelry is one of the most affected categories), but I don't think I've ever felt that over-discussion of the price was a factor—typically it's because a host or vendor will go off on a tangent and leave the poor director and camera crew trying to decide what part of an item to focus on in the meantime. By the time the presenters "come back," the presentation time is up, and viewers are left with one or two useful details and some random not-at-all-helpful story.

And I also have to add that there continues to be a lack of important details on many items on the QVC website, including jewelry and kitchen pieces, so it isn't always as easy as "looking up an item online" to get key questions answered (and this isn't only applicable to new items that have not yet been presented or reviewed).

I want them to point out price and value, that's part of it. What absolutely HATE is the constant reference to it with the faux laughter..

It's cheap so BUY IT, BUY IT, BUY IT !!!!!

I think there is too much talk about everything but the product. And No, the website does not give all the details you need. I do look at the product description on the website and am mostly disappointed because what I want to know is not there and is not brought up in the presentation either.

The host needs to let the vendor explain the product and not keep interrupting with how many sold, etc., etc. The host's job is to act as facilator to keep the program goingon schedule and the vendor's job is to present their item. I must miss alot because I don't see the excessive dialog on price and of course the emphasis is on Buy, Buy, Buy. This is a shopping channel after all.

Truly with all the easy pay promotions lately the hosts are constantly, constantly repeating it is under $5, $6 as if that were the real price. They all but shout how "cheap" it is. From being a company almost never used easy pay, they now do it all the time. It is such a rut; do you really want to making payment well into next year on relatively inexpensive items! YIPES! And of course the shipping and taxes that almost all have to pay don't count.

Yesterday I was watching a presentation with Oz Paz silver jewelry. THe host was jumping back and forth between multiple products. The large silver disc pendant @ $99 was hardly described. They never said what the size was, how long the chain was; never showed the back side....nothing. I am selective about what I buy and yes I have computer access and do look at the information...but it is not the same. The on line info does not always show all views, etc. But in this case I do not think they had many so they didn't care knowing that the odds were that it would sell out even with a very poor presentation.

The only mention of cost that I object to is the easy pay cost and not the total cost of the item.

They all do this. I don't care for it.
