Christmas in September?

I find Christmas in September offensive.Last year QVC spent 3 months selling "Gifts".Don't forget Halloween and Thanksgiving.You rush your audience and put them in a panic. Slow down.No countdown, no Xmas trees in the background and no references by hosts.Thank you and Happy Native American's Day (10/12)

Pushing customers so they will order holiday gifts months in advance is all part of the sales strategy of retailers...QVC is no different. Another reason I don't watch anymore. The greedy mentality and urging viewers to buy even you can't afford it just saddens me. Bake a loaf of banana bread for your mailman. He doesn't need a gift basket of gloves, earmuffs, and poo-pouri. Same for the people at your nail salon, dr. office, hair salon, etc.

Why doesen"t the Q have halloween shows? A few halloween shows would work in place of some Christmas shows.Years ago they had some neat halloween shows.

I decorate for Christmas the week after Thanksgiving, so I like to have all my ducks in a row early. That being said, I would love to see some Halloween shows too.

I don’t begrudge the sales push—Q like every other retailer wants your holiday $—but I don’t tune in much once all the gift shows start. They are the most repetitive shows imaginable for days on end, and mostly junk drawer stuff they con MILs into buying for hapless sons-in-laws.

What's the point of complaining about it? Obviously a lot of people like it and enjoy it and buy. I don't think that's any skin off of anyone's nose. There are probably a lot of QVC shows most of us don't like but others do.

The odd thing to me is why can't everyone just let everyone have their share of the time and use the time for something else they like. It's just tv. You can shop a zillion other places on the web for things you like to buy, and probably find some real bargains and different things! Look at it as an opportunity to see new stuff!

Every store in America, be it brick and mortar, shopping channels or online, will spend the three months before Christmas selling gifts. If they’re not, they need a new CEO.

Actually, I find it a welcome break from the monotony of months on end of mattresses, vacuum cleaners and pillows.

I agree with alot of the posters saying alot of retailers show Christmas items earlier and earlier these days...i don't even mind QVC doing the Christmas/Christmas gifts shows...it

is WHAT they consider as good gifts to give to others that i question..................

I dont like the commercial side of Christmas either. But offensive? No! A pain in the backside? Definitely!

The word "offended" has become a weapon. You dont like something be offended by it and the world will cower down.

It’s Hallowmas at Target and Walmart. One aisle has Halloween items and the next Christmas items. They’ve been doing this for years.

I really appreciate the Christmas shows. I am like other people who have become tired of the same ole-same ole on the Q. I have limited budget and have already started shopping. When I see something that I know is the perfect gift for a family member, I buy it. Decorating the house for Christmas with my granddaughter is a joy, so if I can get the shopping out of the way early, I can concentrate on the decorating and not feel any pressure or stress of having to shop.

I remember those shows. They were fun. They had a lot of different items, decorations, costumes, treats, etc.

Complaining to Q or any other retailer about early Christmas presentations is not going to make on iota of difference as long as more people are buying than are not buying.

Your complaints should be addressed to shoppers that like to get their decor and gift shopping done early. You know, the ones that make such shows profitable.

I am one of those shoppers. My new holiday decor selections have been made, my gift list is 90% complete and I'm looking forward to the after Christmas clearance sales.

I like to get all Christmas buying out of the way so I can enjoy the Christmas season without rushing around frantically without enough time.

All I can say is if anyone finds Christmas in September shows offensive (when they are not being forced to watch or buy anything)- well - I can only wonder how anyone who says that gets through a day without being offended by just about everything they encounter on a daily basis!!! I cannot think of anything that offends me except those who bully others in any way!

Retailers will continue to push Christmas earlier and earlier because the demand is there. People will forego Thanksgiving dinner to hit early sales. People start decorating on Thanksgiving. My mom already has one person's gifts done. Is it annoying? Yes, but it's not offensive. It's all about making money and supply and demand.

I haven't bought any gifts yet - I wait until the Black Friday sales, but yesterday I did buy those drawstring gift bags. My mom had them for last year and it was so easy just placing the gifts in them. Since I do the majority of wrapping for her because of her illnesses, much time was saved, especially since I work full time and weekends are my wrapping days.
