David's cookbook

Every Sunday I tune in to ITKWD to see if anything has changed regarding the boring same old same old and I quickly turn back to the great HSN programming and hosts. If only OVC gave the same amount of time to their guests cookbook and product presentation as David gets it would be nice. He is NOT the star at OVC, that's for sure.

Reality check: He IS THE star at QVC.

Not sure that I agree with the statement that David is "not" the star (my guess is he just mght be, if there is, indeed, any "star").

However, I totally agree with you....I don't watch ITKWD much any more, but I tuned in yesterday. I got weary of all the time spent promoting his cookbok, so I changed the channel and never returned.

He may not be a star in the true sense of the word, but he is definitely QVC's star. But I agree about the cookbook. Actually, I find the show to be boring anymore and I have always been a faithful watcher. I still record it, but I fast farward through 95% of it.

1) Free speech applies to the government, not private companies.

2) If free speech DID apply here, it would apply to the haters as much as you. You don't get to claim you have free speech to give your opinion and expect to be immune from the opinions of others.

On the contrary, Sunday's show with Carolyn selling his book was very informative and fun. If you have football viewing parties people love a new comfort food to try with all the holiday's coming up this is the book that some will look to for a new side. David is a star on QVC a very kind and lovable one at that . He is respectful to everyone and even more special to the ill, lonely and elderly. His sense of humor and the witty things he says is more than worth the price of Q's same old, same old.

Don't know what stars you are alluding to but David could not be more gracious and boisterous in selling out their books.

I think David's cookbooks are great, and although I can't watch live, I enjoy the videos where he talks about it and gives us some of the recipes that will be in it. I'm really looking forward to this one!

Meredith Laurence's new cookbook is coming out in early September. Looks like David beat her to it. Not sure if hers will be advance order. I love Meredith's air fry cookbook (her first one) and may get her new cookbook - I believe it is one pot meals. David's cookbook presentation sure made everything look mouth watering! I wish them both well. Something for everyone.

As far as David being the star of QVC, I think he has quite a following on the Q. He has a mild manner, is always kind to the callers, and I think women, especially, like his personality. He also speaks so dearly of his Mother, and a lot of the ITKWD watchers are women with sons! I also know a gentleman who thinks he is hysterical with that crazy happy dance.

It has been said that David's shows are the most watched/most bought from for the Q. He is warm, witty, has a great sense of humor and works hard. The Q decided to have David write a 3rd cookbook using products he sells on his shows - a win win.

Whether you like him or not, I think we all know that David indeed is one of QVC's star hosts. He burns brighter than most of the others and is treated accordingly by his fans and management.

I do wish, however, that he would stop with the frantic removing of sold out colors....it's manic and most distracting!!

I just have to chuckle every time he removes an item! It's got to be removed immediately! I feel sorry for the poor stage assistants. They'd better be on their game. It appears they have to be on standby to take away the sold-out colors pronto!

@Diva on The Q I was just getting ready to type something similar. If a color sells David wants it removed IMMEDIATELY. If the stage assistants can't get out there fast enough for him he will take the item and meet them half way to get it off the set. He ssems a little OCD in this area.

I have to agree -- David's cookbook pitch is becoming obnoxious and, yes, boring. While I understand this new cookbook is using 'easy' methods with storebought ingredients already prepped, some of this stuff is just downright disgusting. If I bought a can of cream soup, threw in some canned or frozen veggies and then tinned biscuits, I would have what he is selling. It's called what mom made during the 50's, 60's, etc. Also, if David gives one more of those fake toothy smiles of his I will absolutely upchuck. I guess you can tell I am no longer a David fan. He is just too full of himself. And, if you've been around long enough, you noticed immediately when he started dyeing his hair and eyebrows. Guess he wants to look younger. This is just too nasty of me ...........
