Quit filling time telling us the count.

One host in particular, David V., spends almost his entire presentations giving counts of what is left....really irritating when there are 8 plus colors of an item....jeez, talk about the product, if it sells out, oh well.....

I think they (whoever THEY are) are telling him in his earpiece to do that. They probably think it creates a sense of urgency to get to your phone and order before whatever it is sells out. Same with the colors, over and over and over again.

That is information probably most want. I know I do. If I want something and trying to decide if I should wait to order and and the host says there are fewer than a certain amount then I can order and won't miss out on something I really want.

It's the reason why I stopped watching ITKWD. I don't see why they can't do a scroll across the screen similar to what they do for other items.

I'm glad David did that today concerning the Farmer Jon's Hulless popcorn

I've been wanting to try it and today it was no shipping cost. I had to do that remote ordering process, but, I got thru in time before wait list.

Unlike days gone by, there's not much being sold here that I worry about selling out before I decide... especially during the 'gifting' season... In fact, when the powers that be decided the way to go was to offer frenzied and frantic hosts doing a single presentation for twenty minutes at a time, virtually quivering over redundant and stale merchandise... I pretty much stopped watching... I noted HSN still has the on-screen counter... It serves the same purpose and isn't nearly as annoying... They too still update the numbers, but it isnt' quite as much a focus... But hey, let's run through colors again...

I think telling the viewers once or twice during the item

presentation time frame is a good idea. But the hosts do tend to overdo the color/quantity alert!!

David said that Laurie Shore likes to hear the count. He just announced they had sold over 100 thousand Mrs. Prindables, but he had to get close to her before he announced it. She practically swooned.

@Krimpette Anything that scrolls is pretty much wasted on me. I can't read much of anything in any of the graphics. When I really want to know what is posted, I have to stand up and move toward the TV.

That's also true on the news channels where sometimes the scrools probably actually matter!

As for why David and his producers give those statistics - they do it because it sells. I don't watch much at all, but every time I do tune into any David, his sales numbers make me think he's more than likely their top sales person nowadays.

I'm a numbers junkie anyway - so those numbers are often my favorite part of the patter - and that's true even when I already know I haven't the slightest intention of buying. That's my own weirdness, of course.

It's a tactic that works on me. If I know that they started out with a few thousand of the item that I'm interested in, but I'm still on the fence about making the purchase and hear there's only a few dozen left, I buy it. I could always cancel it a few minutes later if I change my mind.

When they cut open the apple and I saw it was green that was a pass for me. I bought those carmel apples thru Walmart and they were green and my stomach cramped for hrs. Never again sticking with red delicious.

I got these apples as a gift one year. The apple was so sour that I ate the candy and caramel off and threw the apples away. I do wish they made these with a red delicious apple. I would definitly order them.

I am very fortunate in living near an apple place whose product is superior to Mrs. Prindable's. (I only ordered hers once, and was underwhelmed.)

They do that to prompt people to buy now. I don't know how many times I have heard that line and went on line hours later to check on the item and the product indeed was available in just about every size and color.

I noticed Mary Nelson can barely get through a presentation without constant updating on how many sold/remaining. This is SO annoying to me. I turned her off, I could stand the constant numbers!

I used to be in sales before I retired, and it is a way to make more sales by making a sense of 'urgency'........ and people think that since so many people are buying the item.....maybe they should too.....

You see it with fashion.....a style (like cold shoulder) will sell alot ...not necessarily because it looks good on them..but because 'everyone is wearing it'

David seems to do this more than any other host. Very annoying! It's like a control issue with him. He uses it as an excuse to interrupt the vendor. He doesn't seem to like to let anyone talk more than he does. Useless, annoying, information. A mention once or twice is more than enough. Comes off as rude behavior to me.
