Reviews should only be for items purchased on QVC

I don't know what is going on with the reviews system on QVC but I was looking at some Perricone products, went to the reviews, and noticed that most of them were from the Perricone website, but showing on QVC. It's bad enough QVC allows reviews from people who have not purchased the item and just have an opinion, but now allowing reviews from those who purchased from another site? Either allow real reviews, from people who actually purchased the product on QVC or get rid of reviews entirely.

I totally agree. How hard could it be for QVC to come up with a system by which only purchasers can review products. There are already 10 reviews for Tuesday's Harry Slatkin TSV candles, yet this is a brand new line of candles that is not the same formulation or scents as his line that he sold years ago on QVC. The candles don't even ship until mid-September.

What difference would it make where they purchased it? It's still a review of the product.

Maybe it's still a review of the product...presuming it is the same product and not some variation of it..even size wise. Additionally, other websites likely have different criteria for what they allow and what is posted. If a product is listed on QVC, but only 3 people buy it and hate it, I don't want to see 20 reviews from the vendor site that rave over it. Personally, I would like unfiltered/uncensored feedback from the website it was purchased from, but apparently, that's asking too much.

@makena One difference could be the manufacturer or distributor. I've read in the past, particularly for some beauty brands, one distributor can be used for the brand's proprietary retail site (their own website), and a different distributor for retail via QVC. If I get the same item, but is only 3/4 full in the jar, or packaged in a flimsy way so product was broken or opened -- Yes, that will be part of my review. Especially if it doesn't appear to be an issue with UPS or whatever shipping delivery vendor QVC used.

HSN requires that reviewers have purchased the product AND have had it for a week before reviewing. What a superior system!!

On the Q website you frequently have to weed through bogus reviews until you find an actual QVC customer writing a legitimate review. The Q review system is truly broken.
