Why must snarkiness be the norm for some?

I wanted to buy a particular dress and

was unsure if the top of it would work as I hoped, not as I guessed.

So asking a question seemed the right way to go.

But, based on a snarky response it seemed I chose the wrong way to go.

My hope is that these forums and blogs can be informative and kind

and quite frankly for some, a way to relax and unwind.

So I wish you all a peaceful and kindness filled week.

I hope that showing kindness unto others is what you seek.

Some of these women are very sweet, very informative and enjoyable to post with. I try to ignore the hateful ones.

@TheAdventurer - sorry about your experience. When certain people reply to a post of mine, I don't even bother to open it. You just have to ignore the few. I think all of us have experienced it at one time or another.

I'm sorry you got nasty comments. It happens to all of us on here sooner or later. That is why some of us don't stay or take long breaks. I will tell you that years ago I wrote on a thread in "Among Friends" and exchanged #'s & emails with a group of ladies and made a very dear friend! We talked, exchanged gifts and got very close for about 10 years until she passed away last year. Please don't give up on us as there are great, caring people here! I have learned alot by reading and writing here and have never tried any other place.

I have been on these boards literally since the beginning and I can tell you that if you are expecting all sunny and positive responses you will never come by that here.

There are lots of great people--even some of the snarky ones--but this is by nature an opinion boards, and boy do you get them sometimes. I will warn you about that. I have gotten scorched MANY times. Sometimes justifiably, sometimes not!

I hope you stay, I have enjoyed it for many many years. But if you get upset at disagreeable people, just understand they don't go away. It's just an opinion board. Take everything with a grain of salt, pick and choose what you pay attention to or ignore, and I think you will have a great experience!

Good luck in your future conversations here. I think there is a place for all of us.

There are hateful, nasty people everywhere. I posted a question on here today and yikes did I get snarked. Some people are so pathetic that they have to hate everything and anything and everybody. Brush it off and just remember the friendly posts.

Some people (in general, everywhere, in real person-to-person life) seem to always have a 'smirk'-y demeanor. Just that smirk look. I'm guessing that some people just bother them (and vice-versa). I've always noticed that some people just don't like kind people. Something in their psyche, maybe genetic, from way, way back. Hundreds, perhaps thousands of years ago. Well, we don't know right now, but perhaps in twenty+ years or more, we'll find out why unkind people are the way they are. There is an answer somewhere, somehow.

p.s. I don't even know exactly who isn't crazy about me, lol. Thank goodness that I don't keep track. Who knows, just maybe some of them have crossed the friendship bridge over to my side. In terms of just being friendly, courteous. Keep in mind that I haven't been an angel by any means, lol. Nobody is perfect, and that's for sure.

I've known a few who delight in playing d*vil's advocate on every single whatever. The ones who will debate, say, the color of the sky when you say, 'Gee, what a beautiful blue sky today'............... (I've found that they really can't help themselves, and they don't want to, anyway. It's their M.O.)
