OMGosh QVC what happened to you? I have watched your offerings since... the month after you began and have always admired how nicely dressed all your hosts are. But this morning, at 6:20 a.m. I turned on your channel and was SHOCKED at both the QVC host and the product presenter....it was some kind of sound bar for a tv....but both women were in JEANS and casual shirts, looking like they were ready to go out and mow the lawn. Oh no - that presentation is over & now your computer guy is out selling an HP, and HE is in jeans and a work-in-the-yard shirt!!!!! I realize it is an early hour but you know what - lots of people are up and around at this time -- oh by the way, it's also a Sunday - and if this is how you're going to allow your people to dress I'll just go down to our local flea market and buy from them - looks the same!

Hi @sylram! I too am a steadfast and early QVC watcher. The station has seen me through some good times and some bad, and I remain fairly loyal to it.

At 14 posts, it would appear that you either a long time lurker, relatively long watcher, OR

perhaps you LOST your original mic and are posting under a new one.

Either way, I can't help but wonder what it is about what hosts are wearing that causes you enough discomfort to post about it.

Are you in possession of the rarely seen "Manual Of Style, Dress, and Decorum For Show Hosts on TV shopping Channels"?

Have you recently retired from a position at or above the vice president level in a bank or some Fortune 500 business?

In all your years as a QVC watcher have you never seen posts previously about this subject before?

If you choose to buy your computer or makeup or vacuum cleaner or silver watch at the local flea market, I'm sure the purveyors there will be happy to deal. I doubt that it will impact on QVC one way or the other.

I'm 62. Business and social styles have changed many times in my life. The millenials and genX'ers don't look at it the way we older people do. If hosts are under 40, maybe 45, many will dress differently than in suits, dresses, and poodle skirts.

It's time to stop judging based on a host's (or anyone's) choice of clothing. It may not be what you or I prefer but it is what it is.

It's time we all stop expecting others to dress, eat, walk, and believe what we want them to.

The company I worked for had a no jeans policy. Many years ago, we did a charity jeans day that was hugely successful. Everyone wore "appropriate" jeans (meaning clean, no holes, etc) and otherwise dressed professionally. Received many comments about how much people enjoyed it. But, it was not to be repeated...

Until this summer when they had Friday jeans days. Why the change? Because they had a meeting with all the little millennials and they asked for it. They also asked for puppies in the office but didn't get that. But they got a few of their requests - as if they were new and revolutionary ideas. So, in other words and as others have said, times are changing.

It's not necessarily what people wear, but how they act.

@Alter Ego. I worked at a major college for 30+ years and during school breaks we had "jeans" Friday. But as you said no holes or distressed points. I also agree "It's not necessarily what people wear, but how they act". We all know in the real world people on all levels are judged by the clothes they wear and their appearance. Part of this shows even on QVC when they stress designer named products. A certain designer in every show compares the items on air with products designed by Stella M and other well known designers and therefore we should save money and buy the item presented. The fashion industry controls the major changes in fashion and those who want to be "in the know" follow like lemmings. Times change and the change can dictate the clothes chosen by many of us who have moved from mother at home to working woman and then to retirement. Fashion magazines, celebrities, TV and even shopping channels will always be there to convince us to keep up with the "newest style" so they can sell products or they can not make money. For those of us who have lived this for many years we all know what's old is new again. We can shop in the back of our closet as just as current as the newest styles. If you don't believe it go to a Salvation Army store and look for clothes from the 70s or 80s and you will find out the college students have grabbed them up as soon as they come in. Many of them loved the the era of hippies and freedom. They love the Grassroots Festival and other such festivals where free souls can flourish or so they say. I love the music but my asthma does not like the smells in the air. I not only could get high but I have trouble breathing but these festivals are a different story.

I agree the times have changed but I do not agree with the way some of the host's dress. Some look like they are going for a day at the beach, some look like they are going to work in the yard, some look like they are getting ready to paint or clean and some look like they belong in a strip club.

What is wrong with a nice dress or a nice pair of pants or jeans with a nice sweater or blouse instead of some of the masquerade outfits we see.
