How about a Handbag show with some shoes that match

I don't know about everyone else but I love my shoes and handbags to match. I think it would be nice to have a shoe and handbag show. Maybe show a pair of shoes and a handbag or two that would match?

Have you not been listening to the "fashion experts" they have been telling us for some time that we should have them in different colors. Either your purse or your shoes should stand out and give a "pop" to your outfit. ;-). I agree with you. Who knows they might get us to buy both. They think that works when they are selling garments and start styling before they show us the colors.

They must match when I am dressed up. THey can tell me all night about different popping colors----just not my style. I have to have something match my handbag, if not my clothes, my shoes.

I also think that's a terrific idea. I was never taught to match my pocketbook to my shoes, but I just think that's the way it should be. There are exceptions, of course, but I think a person always looks good that way. I don't subscribe to the "pop of color" way of thinking. On that show with Stacy London and Clinton Kelly, they were always adding brightly colored shoes to an outfit. I think that looks awful if it doesn't blend in. Almost all of my shoes are black, and ALL of my pocketbooks are black. Today I found a pair of raspberry-colored sandals at HSN for 66% off. That is very much the exception for me, but they will look good with a black handbag anyway.

I think everyone should dress in whatever makes them comfortable. I saw a lady in Walmart today that had a muli colored shirt on with a bag that has same exact colors in it. She said it took her year to find a handbag that matched the shirt. She said she gets more comliments on them. She didn'tpay a lot for either.

I also find if I match , I get more comliments. They might not compliment both shoes and purse but one of the two seems to catch their eye. Especially with Red.

I saw a host with a black and white outfit pick up a bright yellow handbag and said oh this is my style. I would feel like a Bumble Bee with those colors. To each his own.

As long as they are sold separately I have no problem with that as a sales presentation. I may actually like both items, but I'd never wear them together.

I do not want to wear an outfit where my shoes match my handbag, ever. I want them to complement my entire outfit. Today I have on deep fushia slingback heels, and a light grey handbag. Both have distinct silver accents and look great with my clothes. I like it.

I have some shoes and purses that match. I think it makes you look more polished. I had purchased these beauriful embroidered shoes to wear with a solid color dress to a wedding. The colors were champagne, soft pink, ice blue, etc. I didn't have any handbag close to those colors that looked right. One day I went to the mall determined to find a purse that would coordinate with the shoes. I was in a shoe store which sold a lot of purses. Had one shoe in my hand holding it up to the various purses when all of a sudden a salesman brought me a purse in the exact pattern of my shoes. I had no idea a matching purse was made. The store had sold out of the shoes but still had the matching purse. To this day, one of my most favorite purchases. Bought this 20 yrs ago and still have and wear them.

I know that you don't need to match your shoes and handbag anymore, and I often use a handbag for the proverbial "pop of color," to "the QVC cliché. That works well, but once in a while it feels very polished to match the two. For some reason, when I'm wearing my Dooney Sophie shoulder bag, which is beige leather with black leather accents, I like throwing on one of my classic Chanel style beige flats with black cap toes. I think you can do both – match or not – and look great. It depends on your mood! I can see why they don't do a show with matching bags because it's so counter to current fashion trends, but, to your point, they might "up" space their sales by showing some coordinating or contrasting shoes along the way. It might mess up their metrics if QVC is hung up on measuring just, say, Dooney sales during a Dooney show, but they might get people to pick up a pair of shoes along the way. Or, in a shoe show, they might show a few handbags that contrast or coordinate and get you to buy a bag along the way.
