QVC....The new Fashion Channel

Is it just me or has QVC become the new fashion/jewelry channel? I am sick to death of these shows. What happened to the old QVC? It seems as if this new format is 95% clothing and 5% of everything else. Boring. Never watch anymore but just go to their website and place orders.

Just a few weeks ago many people were complaining about too many all day garden shows, all day jewelry shows, and all day beauty shows.

QVC just can't win.

I'm with you, haven't watched QVC since the Christmas programming ended. Some home programs would be nice and whatever happened to all the candle shows we used to have? Alberti would be perfect to have a decor show now and then.

I love the all day fashion shows! It will soon be over though.

I feel it's small consolation for QVC pushing those big-ticket items of all day electronics, Vitamix, and vacuum cleaners September through December.

I personally love fashion shows more than any other kind (bath products a close second), so it doesn't bother me, but I wouldsay that QVC seems like it's having a bit of an identity crisis - trying to be this haute fashion hub while still selling food, gardening products, electronics, and admittedly casual fashion lines like Denim & Co. and Quacker Factory.

I think QVC just wants to have it all. I'm sure they wouldn't abandon bread-and-butter fashion lines like the above-mentioned and their "foodies," but they clearly want to make a name for themselves as a high-fashion shopping venue as well.

The mark up on Q clothing is tremendous. Some of the clothes are priced so high and are of Walmart quality. You will hear ladies protest this concept vehemently on this forum but Issac is Target and Walmart material for most of his line and can't even talk about Lori's stuff. SG's chiffon's are so itchy it is unbearable.

Q does have some nice stuff but it is far and few between and it better fit or it will cost you $10 to try it on and a trip to the P.O.

There is a hugh profit margin for clothes and the return policy is a money maker.

it's spring and summer's coming.... new clothes are part of the season! So is spring cleaning, new beds and gardens.... yesterday nearly put me into a catatonic stupor with the TSV.... got a LOT done yesterday even with it being Sunday!

The fashion shows are all I watch and just a few of them. There are always a lot of them when the seasons change. All I see of other merchandise are infomercial types of programs or the same old stuff over and over year after year. Sometimes I feel I'll go stark raving mad if I have to watch Chaz fluffing hair one more time, even if just channel surfing.

I AGREE. Most of the clothing on QVC is overpriced, REALLY low quality, like SG, LOGO, and D & C.

The fashion shows are all I ever watch, and not all lines, just a few. Know that the results of the QVC bean counters largely drive what QVC does with their programming.

I am completely with you. I turn my head when the happy dances come on and I get sick to my stomach when he does those scrunched-up mouth full of food faces trying to look like it's so yummy. To me it comes across as sickening. I hate the big bites. Don't want to be political here but we have enough people needing food and then there are people who are like me and can afford for it but I hate to see the gluttony. Not to get off the subject completely but the food channel has a program where someone tries to eat as much food as they possibly can until they almost get sick and that program I will never watch I saw the commercial and that was enough. I do not see many jewelry shows on Q or many fashions shows. When I turn to Q it seems to be logo. Not a lot of variety. This is why I started watchin other channels. I love fashion day on Evine. It seems most of the jewelry shows are on Evine lots of variety with jewelry too. I turned to Q last night and they were talking about wine, which I have no interest in. Lots of locally owned wine stores where I live.
