I don't think she was speaking for everyone. "We" meaning those that would like it. It should be at least an option.

@StillFuntoShop You might be interested to know that many of us lost thousands of posts in the big change over. I lost over 12,000, and many people lost a lot more than I. That makes your 250 look pretty humble so don't fret about it. We all survived.

@StillFuntoShop I was in a discussion about the Ignore feature a while back. One of the Moderators came on and said it it not possible to have it with the new boards. It is not something that can be added.

This is correct, @proudlyfromNJ. @Keyai posted about it months ago (in his message: http://community.qvc.com/t5/Suggestion-Box/Update-on-the-Ignore-button/m-p/1989546/highlight/true#M14023), and stated that the feature isn't an option on this platform. I haven't seen any new information since then.

He also said they would elevate the issue to the technical support team, and that he and his team would notify us if the option ever does become available. I honestly don't think it's going to be added.

Okay, I'll admit it.....I haven't a clue what you are talking about. What is the Ignore Button all about? Sounds as if I could use it if I didn't want to see a particular person's posts; is that correct? I have only been on the forums a little over a year, so maybe it was something way back when.

Pretty much. You could still see threads they started tho.

The only downside was when people quoted ignored posts.

There are lot's of things to moderate that go beyond ignoring people. I moderated on a board for 10 years that had an ignore button, but the fun never stopped for the mods.

I've helped moderate an international forum and, in all fairness, it's no piece of cake. Just having an ignore feature does little to simplify the moderators' job. In addition, since this forum represents a business they have to be even more careful to monitor the types of comments posted.

@lucymo The old ignore button was flawed, because even if you ignored someone, you would still see that they commented on a post. It would just say something like, "You've ignored this contributor" instead of seeing the text of their post. What they need to do is make it like the Block feature on Facebook, where when you block someone, you are invisible to them, and they are invisible to you. Every time you hit the Reply button, the person to whom you are replying should automatically be invoked (as I've done with you at the beginning of this post), and anyone who you or I have blocked could not even see this post.
