Help with Reviews?

I would like question prompts when writing reviews.

Here are some helpful comments from reviews: "I am 5'9" and normally wear a 32" inseam" or "I am short (5'1") and this print did/did not work for me.

How about: "I have/have not washed this garment"

A few questions to refer to while I am writing a review would be so helpful so I don't forget to include information.

Maybe the Q could run a contest and the best list of questions gets a green check mark... Just thinking aloud❤️

What at suggestions would help you when referring to or writing reviews?

I write lots of reviews (top 100 reviewer) and I don't want or need any prompts. I consider what I would want to know if I was considering the item and try to include that information. Of course the most important thing before ever writing your first review is to study the standards so you will not be in a state of wonderment when your review isn't published.

I also do not include my personal dimensions, which are known only to God. Since people are constructed differently, it's useless to know their height and weight and really none of anyone's business.

I think some people are really good at writing reviews and others....not so much. I wish the people who weren't good would get the prompts LOL but I guess we all think we provide good info

While someone's personal 'stats' may not be that helpful (for example I'm only 5'8" but I'm shortwaisted so I need a 34 inch inseam, which is unusual). I DO appreciate when someone says things like the sizes are running small or shoes are running narrow or whatnot. Especially for wearables! It is a cr apshoot when you are buying clothes online I will take all the help someone wants to give!

Reviews are very important to me, and I just don't buy clothes or shoes or most anything w/o reading them. I really appreciate a well-written review. Many times it helps make my final decision to buy or not buy.

I think something that might help writers write the best reviews possible. That is, the Q could give generic questions to be answered. This will make the writer aware of the most important issues to write about. This would really help with shoes and the inconsistent sizing. Clothes, also.

Myself, I read all negative reviews first to see if they're my issues. Then I do the positives to see if they influence me.

It takes more than: "I loved it when I received it and wish I had two more."

@Tantallum The information you mentioned would be very helpful to me.

Smeone stating "runs large" doesn't help me very much. SEVERAL reviews stating "this runs large" DOES help me tho. Thanks

I rarely buy some lines, such as Linea. Either the reviews are not helpful, non-existent or do not apply.

Sadly, because the models are all tall, I have just learned to assume not to even look at this designer.

I read reviews. Sometimes the reviews make a difference on whether or not I purchase the item. (The reviewer's stats are important as well.) The more information, the easier it is for me to decide. I think your idea of prompts, with objective (instead of subjective) information is a good one. I like the contest idea as well!

@LTT1 There is a sisterhood of Linea ladies who've taken a vow presumably written in blood to never say a negative thing about Linea. That makes their reviews pretty much worthless. Personally, I've found this line to be far from perfection and have vowed to never buy it again.

lola... Thank you for forwarding my requests along to the right place!

I guess my comment should have been worded differently about Linea.

In general, there are ways to review the products often without criticism. For instance "this product did not hold up well for me during machine washing" would not have been a negative for me before retiring because I sent everything (almost) to the dry cleaner.

@LTT1, somewhere along the line I earned the appellation "Top 1000 Reviewer." Haha, far short of Kachina! However, since I joined the boards midway through last year, I have hardly posted a review, most of my comments are posted here on the boards. I think the GFs will give better reviews, and you can ask them a question!

Some of my favorite items have been Linea, but I have also sent some back. If I was going to comment negatively on a Linea item, I would write a review.

I agree with you, it would be nice, in reviews, if there were some check boxes to check if you are reviewing a clothing item. What is perfect length on you, a petite, would probably be far too short on me, all legs.

That wasn't friendly or helpful to the customer asking for help! And you're an Honored contributor? Having some suggestions of what to write would be helpful until you get the hang of it. And the QVC guidelines seem to change depending on who you are. I've written reviews that were removed, only to see almost the exact same review.
