Hearting for NOTIFICATION

All of you are my friends!

Although, because the new forum is confusing (to me, at least) a post may be overlooked in which you may be referencing another poster (ie: recent sinus issues and asking for my suggestions based on my sinus history).

I absolutely have no way of know if you have asked me something unless you "heart" a post or add my name by @lovestoteach to notify me.

This is the way I will know that you would like for me to respond.

If you click on your screen name above and then your profile you can see your old threads and take it from there

@LTT1, that said, since you are so well liked and appreciated... I'm guessing that receiving notifications makes it easier for you to flag someone's request for your feedback.

I think I understand what you mean! I heart as many as I can in a conversation... for me that serves to acknowledge their posts.

There have been times (I'm sure you have seen this) when a discussion has been started to flag someone down... if one poster needs another one.

This is just how I use the notifications, and I try to be diligent and check them...

Here is what happened... maybe you have another suggestion...

Another poster mentioned that the OP might want to ask me about what I do for sinus treatment.

I discovered this accidentally, and several days passed before I "discovered" this by accident.

I don't post regularly in "wellness" (so I will not make myself sick by thinking I'm sick). This reference to me was mentioned in the post, and I feel bad that I did not realize this and answer sooner.

I ALWAYS include @lolakimono in fashion posts that her attention might help.

Please advise me if you feel there is a better way...

I just go to threads that interest me and if I was there before I can tell that I posted because of the check mark at the left of the thread title. But then, I unchecked a whole bunch of stuff when they first changed the board so I don't see a lot of that stuff.

I actually don't like that 'call out' thing so I don't use it at all. I don't do Twitter, so I'm only here for a board experience, not a Twitter experience. But that there are options that others may enjoy - nothing wrong with that I suppose.

I don't like being called out. It just kind of creeps me out. So I don't have any of that turned on and can totally ignore it.

Anyway, I wouldn't worry if you don't see a post right away. It happens and I wouldn't imagine that anybody would take it against you.

@LTT1, thank you for your response. Actually I was just making a general observation.

I tend to heart away to my heart's content (much like you, I suspect). A also think it's important to let folks know that I've read their posts. People put a lot into their posts, so I see the hearts as an important sort of validation (some don't like the hearts, but I think most people enjoy them *s*).

My observation came out of the sense that the two of us are probably in similar situations. -- For me, when I look through the QVC Notifications feature, I always try to click on the posts in which I was "mentioned (via a Notification) but I rarely click on notifications showing someone has hearted one of my posts.

@The @name Notifications alerts make it easier for me to reply to a question that someone has, because if I don't get one of these Notifications I may not realize that someone would like my feedback on something. -- The "you were mentioned in a post" Notifications system is really helpful when I have been busy and haven't really been on the board in a while. It helps prevent questions from falling between the cracks.

I am not sure I know what you mean about "call out" feature?

In the case of sinus troubles (using this as an example) I would have never known someone had mentioned me as a source. I love my ENT that did something magical to my sinuses so much, that I want to spread the word.

What I don't want to do is to go to every thread I have ever posted on and read every post to see if anyone has mentioned me.

I think the notification thru hearts feature is the best way, and this is how I will know to look at a post or a topic, etc.

I just got on here and noticed I had 2 notifications. I clicked on it and a message came up that I don't have any, huh? What's up with that?

@Jordan2, in the QVC Suggestion Box forum, I just started this Moderators - Notifications still being poofed again intermittently thread so as to flag this issue to the QVC moderators. -- In the past I've found that this is the fastest way to let them know about an ongoing issue.

As has been entioned before, when the Notification box indicates that you have Notifications, sometimes when you click on it you can see the notifications... but other times it shows no notifications at all for any day.

This is the work around I've been using for the past few days...

Generally, If I then click on the forum header (e.g. Beauty, Fashion, Suggestion Box, Q Talk. etc.) and then I click on the Notification listing once again, I can see my notifications. It's a work around, but not the ideal, long term solution.

These are two additional threads from the Q Talk forum addressing this issue: Notifications went poof???? (from December 24th) and Help QVC Social - Notifications Poofed Again Today (from December 26th).

I'm guessing that QVC probably just has a skeleton moderator and IT staff for this holiday weekend, and so this issue may not be resolved until early next week.

On the Moderators - Notifications still being poofed again intermittently thread which I started, Britany (from QVC Customer Care) replied very quickly to this issue.

It sounds as though they will be working with a skeleton staff through the holiday and so it this issue probably won't be resolved until next week. Brittany has flagged the issue though and so it's being looked into.

Probably the best thing for you to do is to follow the Moderators - Notifications still being poofed again intermittently thread for updates on this issue. And to ask any questions on that thread since the moderators will probably be addressing the issue there and giving us updates there.

I'm glad to know that my work around worked for you. This way you'll still be able to see your notifications while they are working on resolving this issue.
