Hosts Nonstop Nonsense

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE QVC.....could you have some training sessions with your hosts and remind them that "we the consumer" sitting at home watching are REALLY interested in the product being presented. I don't sit here for entertainment. I realize some fun needs to be had during a presentation. But so many of the shows on QVC now have a host who briefly shows the product and then go off on tangents with the vendor and give no real information on what's being presented. I have watched some fashion shows where the host barely gives the colors and NEVER talks sizing or any of the details of the garment. There is too much constant talking and interrupting and not enough information. When I find myself muting the tv OR just simply turning to another shopping channel, it's time for you to make some changes to the presenters. I've been an avid and loyal customer for 25 years. PLEASE get back to selling and quit trying to entertain me.

I found myself ordering on QVC.com most of the time now because of the lack of info I needed being presented. Lately it's been a circus onTV maybe it's the excitement of the holidays or management wants a more casual presentation. My choice is online now.

I primarily buy from QVC.com. I would love to buy some of the Halston clothing but past experience tells me what is listed as my size will not fit me properly. I am currently wearing a Denim & Co. turtleneck which I bought two sizes smaller than ususal because they run large on me. I could have gone down three sizes for it to fit well. The hosts are salespeople. The spiels are the spiels. We all know them. I like Vionic shoes, but only the tie track shoe versions fit me properly. The slip-ons are too narrow. Now I buy shoes in stores again.

Like this morning - Pat was tossing the show back to Jayne, but Jayne said she couldn't talk because she was too involved with Flash Pad. She was kidding of course. But she was playing Flash Pad. Someday a host will write a tell-all and reveal what insiders really thought about that product.

I think you'll need to vote with your ratings and orders. If you hate what's happening on air, change the station immediately and then don't place any orders during that presentation. (The schedule tells you when it's over even if you're not watching.)

If enough people vote that way, they will make changes. If they don't make changes, then MORE people are voting against you and saying they like whatever is happening in air, even if you don't.

But the good news is that you never have to watch anything on QVC that you don't want to, no matter how else anyone votes. Just change the channel or turn the TV off.

Well said! There are about six products presented in an hour show. That's 10 minutes per product. Often I get very little info about the product because of the chatter between hosts. Perhaps have only ONE host on at a time and maybe the focus will then be on the product that QVC wants the consumer to buy.

I really liked the way the hosts were years ago. There still is a few good ones left. They use to measure jewerly with a ruler to show size. Measurements on clothing describing everything perfectly. Host always dressed so nice just the right makeup and manicured hands. Now it's jumping around at times like clowns. The poor vendor can't get a word in with all the interruptions and personal stories. Made up or slang words and clothing choices makes me wonder who is training these hosts.

Unfortunately some of the hosts treat it as their show - they are the star. All I want is details of sizing, measurements, how it fits not info on their life stories or silly discussions.

Recently a sweater was shown and the click on sizings were totally different - it was very big. No information was given on show to address this very different sizing - no info on what size models were wearing - after I checked with host and asked about sizing - no reply - then checked with vendor - no reply do I order reg. size or not?

Now see reviews all being returned "too big need to size down at least 2 sizes" etc. and it is now on clearance.

Maybe if hosts did their job there would not be so many returns. All we need is information on oroducts clearly and properly given. I do not think it wil change though too many hosts that are wannabe stars.

I remember those past days too! I also have wondered about the "so called" training that the newer hosts have received. I do find that I do not watch the Q channel very much now. Some of hosts' presentations are so unprofessional, I prefer to not watch their shows.

If I'm interested in something being presented, I ALWAYS go on line to double check the specifications that were/weren't given on air. But my biggest disappoint has been the garment sizing. Often it is flat out wrong! I know my garment chest size, if the garment falls on that number I know for certain the item will fit.... I've received items that I looked up it said that number and when I tried it on it was either too big or too small. With that kind of uncertainty, I've pretty much stopped buying clothing......

Not everyone even has internet or internet access when they are watching. If I have to do all the legwork to find out basic info, I might as well just go to the mall.

Maybe the hosts should stop acting like silly, giggly school girls, talking about their personal business, or telling the viewer that they can wear a sweatshirt to go pumpkin picking and then there wouldn't be this constant complaint about them.

You bring up an interesting point. Most of the male hosts are much better than the females. Both Dans, Rick, David, Alberti (not sure if I'm missing any)- they all do a great job. Even RIck can be over the top, but he is informative and fun to watch. Unfortunately, much of what I buy is fashion, which is almost always sold by female hosts.

I agree! There is information customers need to order, we want to see the colors before we order. Some of the hosts think we care about their families, we don't. This is a business, tell your family stories after we have the information to place an order. We don't care what went on in the host's history, they should stop that stuff all together! I'm thinking of one petite host in particular. Hosts, please, just do your job. We couldn't care less about what goes on in your world!

I agree!! I don't need to know anything about a host's personal life to make a purchase!! If the host feels they must share personal info, they can write it in a blog! There, if someone has to know personal stories, he/she can read the shared info. Their life stories just detract from the sales job they are supposed to be doing!

I agree, we shouldn't have to.... but it's now a habit I have because of how some of the hosts present the item and themselves.... and just a word of warning that the information given in the writtn description isn't necessarily ENTIRELY true.....

One disappointing thing (for me) was a watch I purchased from one of the Designers that said it was "Stainless Steel". Advertised on air and on line as "Stainless Steel".

Now, you'd assume that meant solid. After wearing said watch for a year non-stop I had black spots under the "stainless steel band" that was the actual stainless steel coating that has worn off in areas exposing the base metal underneath! I wondered why I was having a reaction to the stainless steel metal band when I never have a reaction to stainless steel (and THE primary reason I purchased it)..... So now that I know this.....I will adjust my purchases accordingly......
