QVC.....PLEASE research your competition. If you look at my purchases, I'm a HUGE customer. Been buying for years. Alot. However I have noticed the prices being not so good and the shipping time has been getting worse. Example,, i almost purchased the LUG overnight bag for $90 plus tax and shipping, so over $100. I decided to check with Amazonn and it was $73 with FREE 2 day shipping. This was not on sale, just their regular prices. I am buying more and more on Amazon because your deals are getting more scarce. I realize the easy pay is the attraction for many, me too, however you are loosing many customers like myself that can afford to buy a lot but the prices are terrible. I bought a 60" TV, computers,, tablets, and much more this Christmas, and none of it on QVC like historcally. I used to buy everything there! So sad. PLEASE IMPROVE..

@dwntwnbrn Although I totally agree that on the whole, QVC's sale prices leave me VERY underwhelmed, a closer price comparison is in order for each specific item in which you may be interested. That same LUG bag on Amazon.com is $73 ONLY in BLACK. Amazon changes the prices depending on the color (because sometimes only certain colors are offered by certain sellers), which they do often and can be very frustrating. The blue LUG is $103, and the cranberry red is $96. I purchased the LUG (in the red) from QVC, and my total was $96, including s/h and tax, and I was able to get it on easy pay if I wanted. So QVC was a pinch LESS expensive than Amazon, and then there's easy pay. However, more times than not QVC does NOT win the price comparison for what I want.

I just don't see that happening.

OP says "at least" compete with Amazon. Hey - last I looked Amazon was more than twice as big as QVC with no TV presence beyond an ad here and there.

I won't live long enough to see , but some times it feels as if Amazon and Walmart together could wipe out most of the malls and all the shopping channels.

Here and there, a David can shoot down a Goliath, but the reason that's news is the infrequency of its happening.

It's probably unrealistic to expect Q prices to compete with Amazon prices. Amazon doesn't have the overhead of running a TV studio, so for that reason alone, Amazon can offer lower prices. But, Q offers more info about products in the form of product demonstrations. Getting more info comes with a higher price.

I watch QVC for product information & demos. When it comes to buy, almost always it is bought elsewhere.

I understand about QVC's large overhead, but it's not my problem. If I don't watch out for my own money, no one will.

They get it. They're not impressed. Neither are we.

You can afford to buy "a lot" yet you need Easy Pay.

QVC has no intention of ever competing with Amazon. They are kind of the antithesis of Amazon. They haven't ever been about strictly monetary "value", but rather the value of the demos (many Amazon products have videos now), the value of Easy Pay, and the value of the convenience (other online companies are now just as convenient or more) to customers.

But regardless, they aren't into competing on any product. They just aren't - and won't be.

When your name connotes Value, you should at best be competitive. If not, change the name or accept prices from elsewhere.

You might check out electric blanket, throws, Sunbeam difference in price from Amazon plus free S& H. We're not talking nickels and dimes here, but like 20.00 difference.

I never shopped the Q for entertainment but quality, value and convenience.

That's apples and oranges ...... QVC is not competing with Amazon. They are two entirely different types of retailer! Plus, Amazon is much bigger than QVC.

I heard on the news this morning that today, Cyber Monday, Amazon will sell 500 items per second. QVC is not in their league.
