Stop poofing the coupon codes. I understand you don't want the competition, but you are not preventing it by poofing all the threads for discounts - especially when they are on products you DO NOT sell. All this policing is making me nuts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe the Q should start providing discount codes ??? Easy pay is NOT a discount!!!!!!!!!!!

I am not sure about this but the coupon codes are probably being deleted because they violate either the Community Guidelines and/or General Terms of Use by being 3rd party codes.

According to the Community Guidelines (which hardly no one reads) in part.....

"Use of these public areas for commercial purposes is prohibited. Do not use any Community features (including, but not limited to, video, forums, reviews, images, and profiles) to solicit funds, advertise, or solicit goods or services, or post third-party promotional material. Only use these public areas and Community features for non-commercial purposes."

I couldn't read all of the stuff in the General TOU as my eyes started glazing over.

QVC considers 3rd party coupon codes promotional material????? Just a thought........

It's not new either. They've been removing them for quite awhile now.

I'm not sure why they are actively moderating now, no one told me, but since they are we have to follow the rules like it or not.

I know boards I have modded on don't allow any outside links and they all get deleted.

Coupon codes have been posted on here for years and they were not deleted. The board was not "moderated" this heavily. Everyone is entitled to their opinion - you know freedom of speech and all that - unless of course you are unfamiliar with the first amendment. My point was the codes are going to be put in the posts whether the moderators like it or not - some are going to get through. No one is putting big banners that are offensive and if they are then they should be deleted. Mentioning that the Q might consider coupon codes as opposed to offering easy pay like it is something special or different is also not childish or immature. It would benefit everyone who shops here. So if you think my post is childish and immature so be it - you are entitled to your opinion. I'm way above name calling in my life.

Don't you remember all the complaining about wondering where the heck the moderators were?

Well they came....I don't like every change here either. I've had posts removed more than once. I'm sure I'm innocent, but then it's not my call and I can't see any point in complaining about it. As I have said before sending people to other sites is rarely acceptable on any board. New boards allow it at first, but many end up with the same rules as the one they left. Which is why some fail.

I'm not sure if they were ever allowed, but without moderators they generally stayed posted. Of course there may have been lot's deleted and we never knew because they were totally gone not edited by mods.

Coupon codes were always removed when we were able to see them. If the codes stayed up, it was because we didn't know they were there.

We all love a good deal, so there nothing wrong with telling people another site is having a sale, but coupon codes and direct links to other retail sites will be removed if shared on this forum.

I hope this helps answer your question and clarify what the difference is between then and now.

@Amy-QVC thanks so much for clarifying this issue.

I can understand why QVC doesn't want to us to post direct links to other sites. What I do really appreciate is this new flexibility regarding sharing info about special values found on other sites. The way I remember it was that, a while back, even these sorts of mentions would get poofed and sometimes got people's accounts suspended... which created a lot of tension on the boards. Some folks even left the boards.

Until you spelled out the Q's policy just now, it wasn't clear to me that I could share this sort of info without worrying about possible consequences.

While the initial forum restructuring in June was something of a nightmare, from my perspective, one great this that has come out of it has been a rethink of when to put a pause on the delete/suspend button.

There's stuff that we're gonna want to share with each other and, lol, we're gonna try to do it come heck or high water. I love the fact that the mods have taken a look at this and have come up with a more flexible, realistic policy.

Thanks so much for that because it makes the forums a much more fun place to hang out!!!

Before the new format they were not allowed either. I found codes on the forums quite a bit & was glad to get them. I know some stayed on the boards while others were deleted for no rhyme or reason. I see nothing wrong with saying look on Facebook, Mr. Rebates, Retailmenot etc since we can't post the codes or links to them. It saves a person some money.
