Please Stop Kissing

I seldom watch the "other channel" but when I do, I must say it's refreshing to see the hosts greet a person with a friendly hello and none of the over the top kissing. When did this all start? I'm a friendly person but I think it's gotten carried away.

I agree, when did all this start? I don't ever remember Kathy Levin do that. I don't kiss the sales people in Macy's or other retail stores. I don't get it! It looks ridiculous!

It's so phony, isn't it? When I see that, I can only think their whole onscreen persona is put-on - "made for TV."

I can't even explain how very much I hate all that kissing and fake excitement.

I go back to the days when they just shook hands..

I find myself watching less and less and I'm thinking soon, not at all.

It is so fake and getting way out of hand.

I wonder if any of the hosts were to meet one of the vendors in a board room instead of in front of television camera would they still put on such a display? The whole kissy face thing is unprofessional.

The one who departed around last Christmas started the smooching concept of greeting visitors. Very European ! Perhaps acceptable if two ladies want to greet each other with an air-kiss, but between different genders is completely inappropriate and very disruptive to the presentation.

Saturday night live could do a really good skit with the whole present the vendor to the camera and just fall all over each other, get control and try to sell the item, then the urge comes back again to say "hello". Sounds just like something SNL could do very well.

I think it started with Lisa Robertson and Joan Rivers doing the kissing thing..... Then Lisa started kissing everyone.....and then everyone started kissing each other....

Maybe we should be kissing the receptionists at the dentists and doctors offices, and then the hygienists and nurses, and our hairdressers, and the postal workers and UPS man, and everybody that comes to the door to sell us stuff. And don't forget your kid's teachers and bus drivers . . . .

If I was the owner I would never allow people kissing before they start selling items. It is stupid; period.

Meeting friends we always kiss...but we are friends.

QVC hosts should keep all things as they are... a business.

Lisa R and Joan Rivers started the kissing bit as a joke. They did that air kissing thing and said" Love You Mean It" joke. I do not remember Lisa R kissing people as a norm.

I also thinks it looks funny as you know the host probably saw that person recently to discuss their sales presentation.

NOT PUTTING LISA R DOWN, as she was probably told toi....but she was one of the worst about kissing. I think they thought it tied into the whole "monied" impression she was always trying to sell...As if ALL monied, fashionable people do it.

I am not upset, I watch for the products, not the hosts. Whatever the hosts do or do not do is set in staff meetings with them. I think variety of hosts is great, everyone is different, everyone of them fulfills some relatable mannerisms. Carolyn is the nice neighbor next door, Jill the "homey" one, Lisa Mason the soothing friend, Lisa R was the "fashion, jet set one" David V, the "girlfrienddddd" every young women wants, Amy is the young urban yuppie, Mary Beth is the "leave it to beaver mom" and I would not put them down or ridicule them for any reason. They are doing their job, the same as we all are.

This is one of my pet peeves..........I hate all the phony smooching and hugging..........why do these women feel that it's necessary to hug and kiss every single vendor. How about a friendly verbal greeting or a handshake for a refreshing change instead of all the phony-baloney.....do what you want off camera, but keep the audience out of it!
