I tuned into the Q this morning to find Big Buck Safari Arcade Plug & Play Video Game being shown.

Since I only caught the last few minutes, I've no idea if the killing of Cecil the lion was mentioned... especially since the box featured vivid graphics of large male and female lions.

Really, QVC? With all the THOUSANDS of items in inventory that are NEVER shown, why did you choose this game to be on-air? Bad move and in poor taste.

I've seen that item offered before and don't find it in poor taste. It's just a game so I don't read anything into the timing of QVC showing it on air.

I agree with sylanne. Any so-called game where death and killing are the goal is not amusement, especially when it comes to games for children. When my grandson started getting into video games I offered to buy him one BUT I told him I would not buy any game that involved killing either animals or humans (I made an exception of Americans killing Nazis in WW2). He chose a sports game. I'm not deluding myself into thinking I stopped him from buying and playing killer video games but he knew why I objected. I hope it made him think about it just a little bit. For some vulnerable populations, these kinds of games inure them to violence. I am against most forms of censorship but some of these manufactures need to be curtailed. If not, then parents need to step up.

OMG!!! Are these people idiots?? First, very politically incorrect. Particularly at this time when going to Africa to hunt down animals has been the focus of such attention.

Second, no young child should be playing video games involving killing. My grandson who is 7 has his games, but nothing invoked in any killing. Even still, his video time is limited by his parents. They, like we were with our children, are conscious of having to censor exposure to destructive stuff. He loves all animals, as well as their kitty and pup. Hubby and I even sent him to a day farm camp this summer, staying with us, where the kids spent time with the animals, learning all about them and their care. Of course, horse and pony rides were included!

I did watch the video presentation online and saw no animals on the presentation as targets. If this the case with the entire game? Does anyone know?

Even if not, I don't like the rifle involved. Guns are not toys for kids. I don't care what your attitudes are about guns and hunting, the power of guns should be respected.

Not only that, but it's entirely possible this toy was selected to be part of the QVC lineup 6 to 12 months ago.

Wow! I think some people here need to stop jumping to conclusions.

I just went and watched the entire presentation (not sure if it was everything that aired, but it was over five minutes long), and not a single animal was "shot".

There was a monkey throwing coconuts, and you shot the coconuts. There were barrels going over the waterfalls and you shot the barrels. There was a backdrop of bongo drums, and targets floated in and out of the screen, and you shot a target (like a big red x), and there was some floating target (x type things again) that were two sided, and to score you had to shoot the one side only, before it flipped.

Now I'm sure the anti gun whiners will find fault, but face the facts. Target shooting is a sport. Millions of people in this country participate. Lots of folks start their kids out with both target games, and real target shooting with real guns. Nothing illegal or immoral or wrong with it. Where do you think our military would be if people didn't teach their kids how to shoot at targets?

That is all this game was portraying. No animals being shot or shot at, no blood, no gore. Just a bunch of people on here raising a ruckus about something they didn't even see.

Thank you. I knew from the minute I started reading this thread that the game wouldn't involve shooting animals. How ridiculous - I've noticed so many people eager to jump to conclusions when they haven't even really seen something. Everything is so fraught with emotion and knee jerk reactions anymore.
