Update on the Ignore button

Hi Everyone,

Many of you have requested the return of the Ignore button feature. This feature allowed you to select forum posters whose posts you did not wish to see. Everyone else could see their posts but you would no longer be able to view any of their activity.

Unfortunately the Ignore feature is not available in the new forums.

Your many requests have been elevated to the appropriate teams for consideration. If this feature is made available in the future we will be sure to allow for members to use it. However, I do not expect this feature to be available in 2015.

thank you for letting us know. I would have thought this would have been beta tested first before offering this new forum to us and noticing that the ignore button was "missing". As I am very familiar with chatboard features and since this is a very much requested feature, you can get this for 2015 if you truly wanted to - there are developers for this software and discussion boards over on the software site that the Q uses - and you can work on getting a plug in created. You do not need to wait for someone else to release it, the Q, with all of its revenue, could have a programmer develop that plugin feature and add it in here.

That software does allow that capability. I have created plugin's for chatboards (different software - minor stuff - nothing big), so it can be done.

In some ways, this new format seems rather unsophisticated (obsolete?). I wonder if QVC knew what they were getting into. The previous format was infinitely better. But that's OK, I am more productive with my time these days! (Thanks for the update about "ignore". I agree - "bummer").

I don't understand why it is difficult to just ignore the offensive ones and move around them.

Be honest, don't you do it daily in real-time?

Sentence reads better like this: "This feature allowed you to select forum posters whose posts you did not wish to see." Your way is awkward.

It's very clunky. For example, quoting and editing require more steps than is necessary. Despite the addition of some nice features (of which the emoticons are defintely not one...) I have to agree the boards seem more labor intensive than they need to be.

I agree with you. I never used this feature in the old forums and, overall, preferred to just skip over posts and posters of my choosing. Still, for those who value and miss it, I can't see that it would hurt anything to have it... It's another option and I'm all for options!
