Given their marching orders, I would have to agree that for the most part most of them are doing a solid job... Of course, any change this significant and migration this large is going to require tweaking, and a learning curve on the part of users, site managers and moderators...

Au contraire - I wrote it for no other reason than to let the moderators know that there are people who see what they are dealing with, who think they're handling it well, and who support their actions and decisions. Nothing more nor less than that.

If their orders were to remove the slightest hint of controversy, stifle all creativity, and make the boards as dull as dishwater, they're doing a fine job.

LOL, people will argue about anything.

Personally modding is a pretty thankless job and it's probably a shock to the new found mods at how much lip they're getting from some of the posters. Most boards would not even allow that.

Do I like the stricter guidelines? No, but it's not causing me to go somewhere else either.

Being a moderator is just like any other customer service representative in any field who "gets lip". You do your job and know not to take it personally....ESPECIALLY doing that job in an anonymous forum. Do you really think they care who we are and what we say? LOL. I'd bet half of them are hysterically laughing over what goes on here. The moderators here are heavy-handed and intrusive. Not their fault....that's how they have been trained to do their job. However this has caused a lot of people to leave and a lot of people still here do not appreciate it.
