IMPOSSIBLE PIES

Years ago, when my daughter was little, she loved some of the Impossible Pies and I'd make one for dinner every so often. I hadn't made one in years or even thought of them, but the Impossible Cheeseburger Pie came up recently and we had one last night. Still good

Does anyone else still make them?

OMG!

Havent made one in ages, either. It was one dish I COULD make when I first moved out on my own.

Once, when my oven was on the fritz, I tried to make it in my Pyrex pie plate on top of the burner.

I then learned Pyrex is mostly OVEN proof. 😉

I make the coconut impossible pie and the chicken pot pie impossible pie on occasion. They are so easy that you feel almost guilty serving them,

i have never ever tried the cheeseburger one. Looks yummy.

Bisquick now makes a gluten free mix

Make one every now and then with sausage instead of hamburger. Add onion and green pepper to it as well. Works well for brunch or dinner!

Yes, and a lightened version. I had the coconut pie once and it's delicious.

Does everyone know... Betty Crocker has an online site, I looked up the Impossible Pies and was overwhelmed how many they have now!!!

It is a good dinner, @sweet pete

Last night, we chopped up small pieces of dill pickle and had that as a side to put on top. We all did, it was good.

The basic ingredient is Bisquick which makes a pie-like part of many recipe versions.

Funny that you posted this today. I made an Impossible Cheeseburger Pie for dinner last night, too. I was tired of the same old thing so I dug out this old recipe. I made it in my large round Copper Chef pan, so I started it on the stove and finished in the oven all in one pan. Worked out great and tasted good.

Ya know, I have heard of these. I even have a clipping out of magazine from a zillion years back that I still have stuck in my recipe binder. But have I ever made one? No. I'm not getting any younger so it's about time I give it a try. Ha! Thanks for the reminder...and the walk down Bisquick memory lane.

In the fall when I make a pumpkin pie, I always make an Impossible Pumpkin Pie. It uses Bisquick, so it forms its' own crust. It is delicious and the family loves it! I serve it topped with whipped cream and a slight sprinkle of cinnamon.

I'm glad you mentioned that @Brigitta I love pumpkin pie and I've always wanted to make an Impossible version. I think I will, and I won't wait until Autumn

I made one for dinner tonight as a matter of fact. Husband remembered I used to make them often when the girls were small, and enjoyed the one tonight with sausage, onions and jalapeño.

When I was in my teens, I made both the taco and lasagna impossible pies. There were dessert pies too. I'd love to find a cookbook of all the recipes.
