I had a tub of butter, but wanted to use my butter dish. So I put two globs of softened butter in plastic wrap and molded it with my fingers into the size and shape I needed. Like doing compound butter but quicker since no seasonings involved. Only took a few minutes.

I'm happy I can use my butter dish.
