Slow Cooker Stuffing, Eggs?

I copied three recipes for making stuffing/dressing in a slow cooker, two add beaten eggs.

I’ve never added eggs, is this a common addition?

The recipes sound pretty basic, does anyone else do anything fancier?

This would make me afraid.. I don't want scrambled eggs

with my turkey ....

Hi @Noel7 actually the stuffing my mom used to make had an egg in it and while it is different it was delicious and everyone loved it. Her recipe was made with bread crumbs instead of bread cubes. As it would come out of the turkey cavity in a whole piece, it was nicely served in slices alongside the turkey and folks new to the family quickly adapted to the change . . .

Thank you for the description, I would like it fluffier this time around.

OK, I am on the ipad, so give me a few minutes to set up the desk top so I can copy and paste the recipes. Both Microsoft and Firefox updated and now so much doesn’t work.

Sorry, I might not have copied the other one that has eggs, I don't see it but basically it was about the same as the other one with eggs.

Oh thanks so much @Noel7, both of those look very good. I've saved them for future use as I am always expanding my stuffing horizons (which right now consist of Trader Joe's Cornbread Stuffing) . . . baby steps I guess eh? . . .

I will look at the recipes in a bit.

My mom used Pepperidge Farm seasoned stuffing. This is the flavor I associate with turkey at Thanksgiving.

Dont be afraid. Southern dressing has eggs. They are a binder and do not get scrambled. You add broth and eggs and it's like making a cake. Delicious.

I always use milk and eggs in my stuffing..never any of that boxed chicken broth. It turns out delicious and everyone asks for my recipe ( my mother’s actually)

My dear friend Betty Crocker (lol) just sent me a recipe for Bacon-Cornbread stuffing which I thought might interest you.

I'd leave out the green bell pepper, but that's just me

Tee hee @Noel7 thank goodness your friend Betty is so helpful as I have saved this recipe too. For Thanksgiving I bought a small, two pound 1/2 turkey breast and thanks to the Gods of Cooking a website sent me the perfect recipe for cooking it along with stuffing and roasting veggies . . . I am so ready for tomorrow.
