Vanilla Extract

Seems the prices are still high.

I purchased a couple of small bottles a few months ago but I'd like to have at least one more. In the grocery store, it's about $6 for an ounce of just the regular vanilla extract.

The last time I was in the health food store, there was a bottle at a good price. Bet that's gone now but I need to see about it.

Anyone find a good deal on vanilla extract?

I usually make my own vanilla and would like to make more, but vanilla beans cost a lot these days. I guess 6 dollars an ounce is a good price, it would cost me more per ounce than that to buy the vanilla beans and vodka to make my own.

@software, if you have a Costco near. their prices are pretty good. if you're not a member, ask a friend to pick you up a bottle. LM

i buy a 16 ounce bottle of pure vanilla extract in bjs wholesale club for 16 dollars a couple months ago.

I agree about Aldi. They have all their baking ingredients fully stocked.

@Fiero Woman I won't use their sugar because it's made from beets instead of pure can sugar. Beets are genetically modified. I try to stay away from as much GM foods as I can.
