      <description>&lt;P&gt;I use Gala apples in all of my recipes. &amp;nbsp;They are good for making pies, I mix them with Granny Smith and my pies are wonderful.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;you can make fruit salad, apple sauce.... whatever. &amp;nbsp;They are a good all ourpose apple. &amp;nbsp;And they are good to snack on.....yummy!&lt;/P&gt;</description>

I also use Gala apples when I make steel cut oatmeal overnight in my crockpot (I got the recipe from the QVC forum a year or so ago). They plump up nicely while the oatmeal cooks. However, Granny Smiths are my go-to apples for apple pie.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
