WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE COOKIE(s)?????

I would have to say that I have a few:

Anytime - Caramel/sea salt Biscotti (this is store bought)

Christmas - Butter cookies with chopped walnuts

Christmas - Pecan Balls with chopped dates

Christmas - Spritz cookies

I like cookies, I have to admit but lately I am only eating a Biscotti. The others are a treat at Christmas with a lot more calories. Share your favorite cookies and also one cookie recipe.

DATE PECAN BALLS

1 cup soft butter; 1/2 cup sugar; 2 t. vanilla; 2 cups sifted flour; 1 to 1-1/4 cup chopped pecans and 1 cup chopped dates. I buy the dates that are already chopped in a box and are dusted with fine sugar. Dates do not have a distinct flavor but rather sweet.

Cream butter and sugar add vanilla and mix; add flour & mix; add pecans and dates mix. Form into balls (a little larger than a teaspoon). Refrigerate 1 to 2 hours covered.

Grease baking sheet and bake 20 min. at 350. Cool slightly and roll in powder sugar and then sprinkle with powder sugar. Yum.

Funny you should ask, @Katcat1!!

In the past year, my taste buds have done a 180.

I currently love white chocolate macadamia nut cookies, whereas before I loathed white chocolate!

As far as a recipe goes, I've tried many, but have yet to find the one.

I've tried all butter, and half butter/half butter flavored Crisco, etc., but haven't found the right consistency of chewy/crispy.

If anyone has a T&T recipe, I'm in!

I also love the lacy, paper-thin molasses cookies that my BFF makes. TDF!

Toll House and homemade Mexican wedding cookies.

There's also a butterscotch bar cookie I make at Christmas that has a cup of pecans. They're scrumptious!

I'm not a big cookie lover but if I'm going to eat one, it is an M&M Cookie. Basically a chocolate chip cookie made with M&M's instead of choc chips.

....I can't think of too many cookies I haven't liked! Not a fair question!

At this point in life (I am adopted), I have long been convinced that Cookie Monster is related to me: I don't care what Acestey.com has to say about that-we are related!

@tiny 2Well, Girl, anytime you need a goodie! LOL!!! Fantastic with vanilla ice cream or with a fruit tray!

The only appliance is a hand held mixer for the eggs and brown sugar. The top does shatter. Expect that. I always line my 9 x 13 with aluminum foil over lapping each end by about 6 inches. Grease the foil "bottom" and sides as you normally would.

When it cools, you just lift up using those "handles" and place on a cutting board. Works like a charm and your cuts are more neat! Also does great with fudge.

Butterscotch Bars

Preheat oven to 325 degrees

Line a 9 x 13 inch casserole with aluminum foil which should go past the ends about 8 inches. The extra will be handles to lift the cooled block of cookies to cut.

Grease or spray pan and aluminum well.

4 Eggs

1 (16 oz) box light brown sugar

2 Cups Bisquick

2 Cups chopped pecans or walnut

1 6 oz pkg. butterscotch morsels

1 teaspoon vanilla

Beat eggs with hand mixture until frothy.

Gradually beat in sugar until thick.

Stir in vanilla, biscuit mix, chopped nuts, and butterscotch morsels.

Spread into greased 9 x 13 in. pan.

Bake at 325 for 45 minutes.

Cool and cut. Yield two dozen.
