A couple of years ago I started making what I called "Bowls" in my ongoing war against boring lunches. I'd make brown rice to have on hand, put a little into a bowl and top with leftover chicken or salmon or ground turkey and plenty of veg. Sometimes a little dressing.

Come to find out, I wasn't the only one who loved Bowls and now it's been elevated to an art form called "Buddha Bowls."

Does anyone here make them?

I came across a wonderful blog explaining them and including quite a few recipes, mostly vegetables, a few with a little chicken, etc.

http://fitfoodiefinds.com/2016/01/healthy-buddha-bowl-recipes/

"What is a buddha bowl? Essentially it’s a whole bunch of good stuff in a bowl topped with more good stuff. We’re talking whole grains + lean proteins + tons of veggies + nuts/seeds/dressing. "

What I love about these bowls is we can really go for different flavors. I want to plan one with Asian flavors and maybe baby bok choy on top.

A little sesame oil goes a long way and it's considered a healthy oil.

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for the great bowl ideas!

I've heard about doing this, and then for some reason, it just kind of slipped my mind.

That Minute Rice blend sounds really good, too.

I'll have to look for that.

I'm always looking for something different to use as a side or with a meal. My DH loves noodles and rice and things like that to have with our meals, and he also likes to try different things, too.
