I got some pecan sandies this week. The other day on a 2nd cup of coffee, I thought it would taste good to have a couple of small cookies to go with it. It does hit the spot for me.

Today, not mentioning Christmas cookies, what would you say is your favorite cookie? I have a book I haven't looked through in awhile, & I just might go and see about that.

That may be a next kitchen project.

My favorite cookie of all time is chewy chocolate chip!! After that at a close second is oatmeal raisin!

@qualitygal I honestly don't think I have a favorite cookie, I like MOST cookies, it really depends on my mood.

My Mother made the best peanut butter cookies. Cute story - she came to visit and asked if I would like some pb cookies. The three children who were maybe 7, 11 and 12 at the time all chimed in and said "our Mother never makes cookies." What!!! I made cookies all the time, just not pb because I couldn't duplicate Mother's.

Chocolate Chewies, very much like a brownie cookie.....yum!

Gottlieb's Chocolate Chewies (Gottlieb's is a local bakery here)

12 oz. powdered sugar

1 - 1/4 oz. cocoa powder

3 egg whites

2 tablespoons all purpose flour

8 oz. chopped pecans

Preheat oven to 350.

Line cookie sheets w/parchment paper

Place sugar, cocoa & flour in mixing bowl and beat till well blended. Beat in egg whites, one at a time, scraping bowl as necessary.

Beat at high speed 1 minute. Beat in pecans.

Drop by tablespoonfuls onto cookie sheets, leaving 2 inches between cookies for spreading.

Bake one sheet at a time for 15 minutes, turning sheet halfway thru baking time.

Remove from oven, cool on paper.

Place cookies on paper in freezer; freeze 1 hour.

Remove from freezer; peel paper off cookies.

Store in airtight container.

These do not store for very long.

Makes about 2 dozen.

Speaking of pecan sandies, yesterday I got DH some pecan sandies with dark chocolate chips and almonds......he was in heaven!

He loves anything dark chocolate!

From Mary Beth's cookbook, there is a recipe for an orange, white chocolate chip cookie that I've made over and over. It's my favorite. As I've gotten older, I find I've lost my enthusiasm for chocolate, especially chocolate chips.

Oatmeal Scotchie or "Christmas Crack" - saltines covered with cooked butter and brown sugar with melted chocolate on top.
