My DD dad passed a while ago and I finally was ready to look through some of his things. In one box were these 2 recipes I thought I would share. They were in the newspaper Christmas 1965.

Bundt Bread

Preheat oven to 350

Melt one stick butter and put in bundt pan

open 3 10oz cans Hungry Jack biscuits (plain or buttermilk) (I guess you could use pillsbury!)

Without separating biscuits arrange them around the pan

Bake 25 to 35 minutes

Remove from oven and turn onto rack to cool. Pull bread apart. Wonderful with jam and honey. Lovely for making toasted cheese. This is a neat trick.

That is exactly how the recipe was written. What is toasted cheese? Love the neat trick comment.

Christmas Kugel

1- 1pd carton small curd cottage cheese

4-oz. cream cheese (room temp)

1 stick butter room temp.

1 cup milk

4 eggs

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 tsp. salt

3 cups cooked wide egg noodles

1 teaspoon vinilla

Butter a 9x13 bake dish (glass) Blend cottage cheese, cream cheese, butter in large bowl. Mix in milk, eggs, sugar and salt. Fold in noodles and vanilla. Transfer to baking dish.

Can be prepared one day ahead. Cover and refrigerate.

Preheat oven to 325 degrees, Bake kugel until browned and edges pull away from the sides, about 50 minutes. Cut into squares. Serve warm or at room temperature.

I just got a kick out of these old recipes and thought of a simpler time, I hope you enjoyed reading them. Happy Valentines, Hug your loved ones today and tell them you Love them.
