I just received this email and was intrigued as I have heard so much about In-and-Out burgers but know I will never get to California to try one so I am intrigued.

I haven't looked at the link yet @momtochloe, but am excited to do so! Just wanted to let @alliswell know that you can buy the Red Lobster biscuit mix at food stores. It comes in a box. You just add a few ingredients, including shredded cheddar cheese. I haven't tried it, but it's probably as good as what you get at the restaurant.

You're welcome @alliswell. Also wanted to mention that, in my food store, they display it in the seafood section. It may be in the biscuit mix section as well, but I'm not sure.

Some of those recipes looks great @momtochloe. I went through them quickly but will go back and decide which ones I want. I know I'll be paying special attention to the chick-fil-a recipe as I LOVE their chicken.

@alliswell I hope the recipes turn out well as I know folks have been disappointed with some of the copycat recipes they have tried.

I love copycat recipes, thanks for posting! I've even bought those Top Secret Recipes cookbooks (where I discovered the best Cinnabon's recipe). But I will admit, I wasn't that impressed with their Red Lobster Chedder Bisquits, so I'm glad to see I can try a mix from the store My all time favorite copycat recipe is Panda Express's Chow Mein from the DamDelish website...I make it all the time. Those look like some good recipes, thanks for sharing!

Since so many who responded to this thread seem interested in restaurant 'copycat' recipes, I hope you don't mind that I offer a good site for such recipes.

It's Todd Wilbur's site who has several cookbooks on restaurant copycat recipes, I have several of his cookbooks and I''ve tried lots of the recipes and they've been spot on!

I got the cookbooks here on QVC, but I'm not sure if they currently have them in stock, I didn't check, but Amazon does!

Oh no @KingstonsMom I love me some Todd Wilbur (I have two of his cookbooks myself) and I love his website (I especially like that you can purchase individual recipes for like .79).

Thanks for posting the link to his site as I have been on a quest for a knock off of Church's Chicken (someone mentioned in a different thread that the recipe that is splattered all over the internet is not Church's Chicken and I was hoping Todd would have one but sadly no . . . ).

ETA: Sorry, no Church's fried chicken in my books either. I did google it and looked at several sites claiming their recipe is a good clone

Oh @alliswell I am so with you on waiting on the autumn weather . . . I dog out the weather forecast practically by the hour waiting to see when the temperature/humidity will drop . . .

I am SO with you on autumn coming! I'm in the deep south of GA and it's been 90's (triple digits with the humidity) for over 2 months straight, with very little rain!

Now, I'm dreamin' of a nice hot bowl of crab stew with some of those Red Lobster cheddar bay biscuits or rolls hot from the oven, with a salad, one of our favorite fall/winter dishes!

We're dyin' here, LOL!

I just HAVE to add, if nobody minds, that I'm really looking forward to fall to make another favorite fall recipe for Apple Cake from one of our favorite posters on the Recipe forum, BritBrit.

It is awesome and the glaze really makes the cake, it's sooooo good and the cake is soooo moist! If you like apple cake, you'll LOVE this!

So moist, and one thing use a whisk on the topping the whole time!! don't stop it will get like a light caramel color....well first its a white color then as you whisk it it darkens..WOW!!its so good..I might just double it the topping the next time.. also make sure you put the topping on it while its hot.

Fresh Apple Cake

CREAM IN A LARGE BOWL OR STAND MIXER:

2 stick margarine

2 c sugar

ADD:

2 large eggs

IN A SEPARATE BOWL, COMBINE:

2 1/2 c all purpose flour

2 tsp baking powder

1 tsp baking soda

1/8 tsp salt

2 tsp cinnamon

ADD DRY INGREDIENTS TO THE MARGARINE MIXTURE. MIX IN:

3 c finely chopped apples

1 c chopped walnuts

2-3 Tbsp milk

GLAZE

3/4 c sugar

1/2 c margarine

1/4 c buttermilk

1 Tbsp light corn syrup

1/4 tsp baking soda

1 tsp real vanilla extract

Directions

1. Follow the above steps to make the cake batter.

2. Grease and flour a 9x13 pan Spread apple cake batter evenly in pan.

3. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes to 1 hour, or until a toothpick comes out without raw batter on it.

4. While cake is baking, combine all the glaze ingredients except the vanilla in a medium pan. Stir and cook to to a rolling boil. Remove from heat and add 1 teaspoon of vanilla.

5. Pour and spread glaze over hot cake as soon as the cake is removed from the oven.

6. Let cake cool completely before serving. The longer it sits, the better it gets!

Oh @KingstonsMom I feel terrible for even remotely complaining as I live in the western suburbs of Chicago and compared to the rest of the country we have been blessed . . . I honestly don't know how you folks in the south do it, between me sweating while sitting still and trying to fit my hair through various doorways I don't think I could make it . . .
