BEEF STROGNOFF - PRESSURE COOKER

Another favorite!

BEEF STROGNOFF - PRESSURE COOKER

2 lbs. beef stew meat
cut into 1" cubes
3 tablespoons oil
2 tablespoons flour
1 large onion, chopped
1 teaspoon garlic
1 cup beef broth
1/4 lb. fresh mushrooms, sliced
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 cup sour cream
Salt and pepper to taste
1 package egg noodles, cooked

Directions
In cooker, brown meat. Add flour and mix well. Stir in onion, garlic powder, mushrooms, tomato paste, and Worcestershire sauce. Blend thoroughly. Close the lid and bring to high pressure. Cook 20 minutes. Release the pressure and remove the lid. Stir in sour cream and blend well. Serve over hot egg noodles.

Sounds yummy! I love beef stroganoff made with cuts of beef, not hamburger but my recipe uses the slow cooker. Nice to have a tried and true one for the pressure cooker!

Also nice to "see" you again! I was afraid you had disappeared again-haven't seen you on the boards for a couple of weeks.

Hi...I'm going to try this tomorrow in my electric PC...but I have a question. Twenty minutes seems like a long time to me! Granted, I'm a disaster in the kitchen, but I have a few stew-like meals that I do in the PC with lots more veggies (peppers, carrots, frozen) that I cook for 8 minutes. Will you verify the 20 minutes for me...please?

It looks good...Handsome loves beef anything...this looks like something I can actually make without too much calamity! TIA

Hi... Veggies cook much faster in the pressure cooker, but, tough meat such as stew meat takes a lot longer to get tender. I like my meat fall a part tender, if you don't, you may want to cook it for less time and check for doneness. You can always cook it longer after you check it.

Before my digital pc even arrived a few years ago I was all over the net seeking out a recipe for Beef Strogy, @Chicagoan! It's always been a favorite comfort food here so I have to try new and improved...with tomato paste, for sure! Thanks for posting!
