If you have a super-simple homemade bread recipe that doesn't require a bread machine, can you please share it with me?

I've baked bread a few times, but the recipes always required hours or days of proofing, punching, proofing, punching... I don't have the time for that.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

If you don't want to spend hours doing all that you need to do making yeast bread, then I think you may be out of luck. I have and use a bread machine and I have and use a kitchen aid mixer that will make the dough but still have to proof and knead. Are you thinking about a quick bread that doesn't need all the work? Otherwise, go to your local bakery and buy a good loaf of bread.

A few years ago I read a recipe for bread that required no kneading that was baked in a Dutch oven. My mother made it and said it was easy and very good. I'll make it one day - when I have a Dutch oven.

http://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/11376-no-knead-bread
