My family thoroughly enjoys "The Best Brussel Sprouts" from the Bob Warden cookbook called "Great Foods Fast.." Here's my dilemma: I need to make a lot of them! And it's so time consuming to make each 1 pound batch individually. I'd like to know if I could make 4 pounds in one shot, and if so, how long should I cook them in the pressure cooker? Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated as Thanksgiving is right around the corner and these sprouts are in high demand.

Luvbirdz - I have the same cookbook and if you look at pg. 202 for general cooking of brussels sprouts, Bob Warden lists "any" size for 2 minutes with 1/2 cup liquid. I'm guessing while you would be limited by the size of your pressure cooker, as long as you didn't go over the recommended 2/3 full, you should be able to do 4 lbs (if they fit). Or break it into 2 recipes of 2 lbs. each, which would cut your cooking time in half of doing 4 lbs. individually.

I've never made this recipe, so thanks for bringing it to my attention! May put that on my Thanksgiving menu...

The general rule with pressure cooking is that times remain the same regardless of quantity. That is one of the advantages of pressure cooking because one can scale up or down recipes as needed, depending on the size of the cooker.
