DH and I switched dinner and breakfast as a diet to help lose weight. The idea being you would burn off the larger amount of calories during the day. It worked, but eating things like a steak or spaghetti first thing in the morning wore thin after a week. Now I read that some folks suggest skipping breakfast. No thanks.

Last week I had a few breakfast meals for dinner. There's no set rules, just habits. So I wondered what food you might eat at a different meal time than what would be considered traditional?

Pizza for breakfast? that sort of thing....

I like breakfast for lunch or dinner but my DH is not a fan. When I was single I would eat cereal, eggs, pancakes, etc. for just about any meal. I could never eat pizza or hamburgers or other traditional lunch or dinner meals at breakfast. They are too heavy at that time of day. As a matter of fact I can't eat much of anything that early in the day - not even breakfast foods, because it just makes my feel too full and nauseous.

Yesterday we had company for lunch and it was a much larger than normal meal so we had baloney sandwiches for dinner. when we are in Florida we tend to go out for lunch a lot and then have a much smaller dinner. when we are in Pa we tend to do things where we take along a packed lunch and then either have dinner out or have a large meal at home. I think that is because when we are "home" in Pa. we know places where we can go to sit and have a picnic lunch no matter where we may go. Not unusual in Pitts. to see people sitting and eating on a bench in a cemetery. people sometimes use the cemeteries there like parks. Walk dogs, eat a quiet meal, sit and enjoy the sunshine and peace & quiet. I never see anyone in the cemetaries down here in Fl.

My ex-husbands best meal (in the kitchen not on the grill) was a beef stew in the crock pot. He would always start it about 10:00 to 11:00 on a Sat. night and by the time we got up Sunday morning the smell was just way too much. So for breakfast every winter several times a season we had big bowls of stew with melted cheese and mini crushed Ritz crackers mixed in for breakfast.

Somethings were hard to give up with the divorce and his stew was one of them.
