Long before Penzey's herbs and spices were available nationally, Mc Cormick Schilling provided the herbs and spices, as well as other mixes, that served my family well and, though I take advantage of Penzey's, I still have a fondness for and loyalty to Mc Cormick Schilling. Schilling's Swedish Meatball Mix is a favorite; we think they make the best Swedish Meatballs yet! With noodles and steamed broccoli, it makes a delicious meal.

This is a recipe for one of the discontinued blends:

Mc Cormick Salt 'n Spice Blend

This spice blend is similar to the discontinued Salt 'n Spice product.
It contains salt, pepper, onion, garlic and celery seed.

1/4 c kosher salt
2 T McCormick® Perfect Pinch® Salt Free Garlic Pepper Seasoning,
McCormick® Seasoned Pepper Blend or Lawry's® Seasoned Pepper
1 T McCormick® Garlic Salt
1 T McCormick® Onion Powder
1 1/2 t McCormick® Celery Seed, crushed

Mix all ingredients until well blended. Store in tightly covered jar in cool, dry place. Makes 1/3 cup.

Usage Tips:
Use this all-purpose seasoning as you would salt and pepper. It tastes great on scrambled eggs, potatoes, hamburgers, potato salad and vegetables.

http://www.mccormick.com/Recipes.aspx

http://www.mccormick.com/Recipes/Other/Salt-and-Spice-Blend.aspx
