Hi Everyone!

My Nana used to have a recipe for a "No Bake Cheesecake", after she passed away we could not find this recipe. Now Nana was not a complicated cook/baker. Does anyone have a simple recipe. Oh and it was also refriferated. Thank you!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

Aunt 'Nez gave me this one in the 50s.

Cheesecake

Fix: 1 large pkg lemon jello with 1 cup water. Cool.

Mix together:

1 lg pkg cream cheese
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla or lemon extract
Add to Jello

Add 1 can whipped carnation milk.
(Place can of milk in freezer for thirty minutes (use a timer so you don't forget!). While that is getting cold, place mixing bowl and beaters (or whisk attachment) in refrigerator or freezer as well.
Pour chilled evaporated milk into mixing bowl and beat at high speed for 1 minute, or until foamy.)

Put jello, cream cheese mixture and whipped milk in a bowl and mix well.

Pour into pie crust.

Crust:
1 stick butter
2 cups graham cracher crumbs
1 Tbsp powered sugar

Zhills, I love your recipe, but ,I am crazy over the crust: there are so many recipes out there that call for a cup of Graham cracker crumbs and a measly tablespoon of melted butter...I have always felt as if I was defective-and invariably, would end up adding a lot more butter! My recipe also calls for the juice of 1 lemon. It is light and delicious; I usually serve it for Easter dinner, too. You can also make it using strawberry jello and a small pkg of frozen strawberries (thawed). It doubles easily.

I'm glad you like it! People that I have made this for ask me for my recipe, and the conversation always goes "My cheese cake cracks" or " I am spring form pan challenged" - and when I tell them about my secret, they are in disbelief. You can dress this up anyway you like with canned cherry or blueberries. One of these days I want to try a "turtle" type recipe using caramel and nuts.... Poodlepet
