Sprinkle a packet of Au Jus mix over it, then on top of that a packet of Ranch dressing mix, then lay a stick of butter / margarine lengthwise on the roast, and add 4 to 6 pepperoncini peppers, (jar in pickle section of store - like the peppers in salads at Olive Garden.) ON the roast around the butter. Don't add any liquids - just what I listed, turn on Ninja and cook on low for 8 or so hours. I usually use a smaller roast for the two of us and just 1/2 pack of each seasoning mix - cuts down on the sodium for us too. You will have a nice thin gravy when it's done = and it's good spooned over mashed potatoes. Today I peeled a few potatoes and put in the pot to cook along with the roast.

**Added comment by: Beth Pund - For everyone who says it is too salty - I found this hint on the feed. Use Mrs. Dash Ranch (no salt added), low sodium Au jus (McCormick) and unsalted butter! Will come out perfect!

********************************

"Mississippi Roast" #2, Submitted by: Alexis Joachimides Lefebvre

Amazing....got this off of Pinterest and added the veg, absolutely delish!!!

I make this for my DH often. The way I make it:

Tenderize the chuck roast and put it in the crock pot.

Add Hidden Valley dry ranch dressing mix (one pack)

one pack Au Jus gravy mix

Chopped pepperoncini to taste on the meat

(I don't add butter because it ruins the gravy I make from the drippings)

Cook on low for 8 to 10 hours.

I usually make veggies on the side. Anyway, it's a great roast. I take the roast up and make gravy to pour over biscuits.

This looks and sounds like a great recipe. I'm going to pull a roast out of the freezer and make this in a few days. We raised out own beef this year (grass fed) and I haven't cooked a roast yet. Thanks for posting this!

Hi ladies! I was recently looking for the Ninja Multi-cooker on QVC again, but I see that it is gone. It was even removed from my wish list. Anyone know why? Are any of you who have it having any issues with it or know of a recall for it?

This sounds interesting and tasty (and EASY!), and I will definitely try it. I will add halved onions and cabbage wedges to the potatoes and carrots in the mix. Can't have a proper pot roast without potatoes, carrots, onions, and cabbage!

I recently used a can of french onion soup and beef/mushroom stock on top of a roast with carrots, celery, and skin on taters. It was super tasty and wonderful to come home to after a long day of work. I did this in my crock, but will try the above in my Ninja.

So next time, I will have to have the low sodium dry ingredients.

DH said this is the best roast I ever made! I reminded him he said that last week & every time I make a roast! LOL He said everyone at work will be jealous of his lunch tomorrow.

Just a comment: The level of saltiness will depend on how big your roast is and how many veggies you add to the pot. I like lots of carrot lengths, potato chunks, halved onions, and cabbage wedges in my pot roast.......and with so many veggies, so I think I'll be OK.

I only put onions & portabella mushrooms in with the roast.

.

05gage25- I'm glad your DH loved it too. My DH said the gravy wasn't too salty for him today. That made me happy. He loves pepper so I actually put 2 extra peppercorns in.

I am making this today- Haven't used my crock pot in FOREVER!

Not worried about salt, cause i put salt on my salt...but are the peperoncini supposed to be chopped or whole? The one recipe says chopped but the picture shows whole...
