Among other things, my kids requested chicken wings as part of our Christmas Eve dinner.... sounds simple, but here's the catch...

I've never had chicken wings because they sound pretty disgusting to me.

I live in th Buffalo, NY area. Chicken wings are VERY popular here. While I prefer wings from a restaurant, my husband will often prepare them on the grill. Grill them just like you would grill any type of meat. Many people deep fry them. There are two sections of the wing--the drum and the flat. Cut off and discard the tip if it is still attached. The sauce put on the wings is the key. BBQ sauce is my favorite, however others like a mixture consisting of melted butter mixed with Frank's hot sauce.

You're not going to want to hear this but... You separate them (cut) at the joint and the wing becomes 2 parts. You cut the flipper off... optional. You can put them in the oven and roast them then turn the broiler up for a crisp on them.

Take them out and toss them with the preferred sauce

Franks red hot and butter, or bbq sauce, chili Thai etc.

You can buy them already done and stick them in an airfryer too.

I love wings!
I always buy them from Buffalo Wild Wings here in Delaware. They are a very popular restaurant and have quite a few options of different sauces, too!

They're meaty, tender, tasty. sort of like whatever toppings you enjoy on a pizza, how to season and/or spice up your wings is pretty much the same thing. There's a million flavorings you can put on your wings or just basci salt & pepper and make the deliciousness in dipping sauces.

If your kids are old enough to cook, bake, roast, grill, hang with them and watch how they may like to make their wings. Enjoy trying them, they're very tasty!!!

I love chicken wings and prefer that piece over any other chicken part. I sometimes purchase the party wings at the grocery store they are already cut in half with the flipper part off and make teriyaki wings, I marinate them in 'Kikkoman Less Sodium Soy Sauce' add fresh ginger slices, garlic powder and a tablespoon of sugar, marinate in the fridge overnight. Before cooking toss out the ginger and lay the wings on a cookie sheet and cook them in the broiler for 1/2 hr to 45 min or less just make sure you flip them over to brown on both sides.

I love wings - used to order them often at a favorite local casual restaurant where you could order them with BBQ sauce or plain to dip into blue cheese dip.

Now they are one of my occasional special treats just because of the difference in nutritional values from them and chicken breast which is one of my go-to proteins. When I do choose them, I just clip off the flipper, season with salt, pepper, and whatever else strikes my fancy that day (often some Italian mixture and I roast them. Sometimes I add BBQ sauce near the end of the roast, sometimes I just enjoy the wings. I don't believe most wing lovers want "bare" wings all that often!

Older than the whole boomer generation here!

I've made them from frozen (uncooked) in an Instapot and then put them in the air fryer. My husband prefers boneless and I prefer bone in. As for blue cheese dressing, no thanks. Allergic to that stuff so I use ranch.

I would order the wings from their favorite restaurant and keep them in the fridge overnight, then reheat. (Google it)

I think freezing them changes the taste. They will be good up to 4 days in the fridge.

There are many different flavors to order so check and see what their favorite is. Some are not so good to me.

Our Publix carries some wonderful ones in their Deli!

Will your meat dept prep them for you? They are best grilled!

You'd want the party wings, they are the "wing" section cut in two. My husband makes very good wings. His sauce is easy and simple using butter, hot sauce of your choice and vinager. He'd buy a large bag of frozen wings from Costco and defrost what he needs. However, the last time we bought frozen party wings from Costco, they were absolutely horrible. After cooking they shrunk so, so small. Like Barbie size food. I actually called Costco and returned them.

I tried making wings for my brother--what a disaster!! I don't eat them, myself --they just don't appeal to me, but if I did, I would buy them frozen and cook them in an air fryer--seems like most frozen items do very well in that machine. I have a 6 qt one so could make alot at one time.

Wings are my favorite part of the chicken. When we were kids, my sister and I used to fight over the two from the roasted chicken.

My mother would buy extras sometimes. They sold for $1 for three pounds.

I still make them. I don't always seperate them....there is no reason to. You can just rub them with oil and seasonings and bake or air fry.

You can also buy them frozen in a bag already seperated and seasoned, so you just bake or air fry them from frozen...no reason to thaw first.
