I've looked in the cookbooks I have and cannot find any recipes for chicken wings that are cooked (ETA) in an air fryer from a frozen state. I'd appreciate it if someone would pass on their favorite recipe. Also, what sauce do you use?

Thank you.

The only way I've seen wings cooked from frozen is using an Instant Pot. My husband has been making wings for years. They're delicious! He uses either Red Hot name brand sauce or Louisiana Hot Sauce (with butter and vinegar). He bakes them in that and then tops the wings when served.

DH makes wings on the Pit Boss. When it's real cold he will slow cook them in the oven.

I have recipes for wings in the air fryer but not from frozen. I have never cooked anything from frozen. I looked at instructions on a bag of frozen wings online that says thaw per instructions for best results.

Can't you thaw them first so you can put seasoning on them?

When I make wings, it's a little bit of a process but the end result is worth the effort. I buy frozen wings (a mix of flats and dummies) from Costco. A day in advance, thaw what I plan to use. Rinse and pat dry with a paper towel. On a rack that's over a paper towel lined sheet pan, lay out the chicken wing pieces and place in the fridge to dry out many hours or overnight, depending on when you're actually going to make them.

When it's time to cook the wing pieces, toss them in a couple of tablespoons of ALUMINUM FREE baking powder. Place the wings in the air fryer basket, but don't overcrowd. Air fry in batches if you need to, when feeding a crowd. Air fry at 400* for about 25 mins. You can check them and move them around at the halfway point. If making several batches, keep the cooked ones in a warm oven.

Make Buffalo sauce from 1/2 Cup Franks Red Hot and 1/3 Cup melted butter (no margarine). Increase as needed.

Toss the wings in the sauce to coat.

Serve with celery sticks and a good bleu cheese dressing.

NOTE - It's IMPERATIVE to use aluminum free baking powder. If you use the usual kind your wings will be inedible.
