Something simple considering how far you have to travel.

Check out the recipe here for Key Lime Pie Balls. They sure sound good and fairly easy to make. Refrigerate and then pack in cooler for trip. Easy to transport. They would definitely be something different. Any cold salad, vegetable or fruit dish...also easy and good as well as easy to keep cold.

* only small cooler needed and put in disposable container

Are there kids? You could bring boxes of those Frito Lays assortment boxes of chips and cheese curls.

Mac116

You’re getting Lots of good ideas I like the cookies or rice Krispy ideas they can be made the day before you leave
While I’d NEVER do it myself I just wanted to tell you about what my friend does when she goes “ home “ to a family reunion
They travel 14 hours each year to attend the reunion, she of course can’t take food that far and they stay in hotels , but she goes to a relatives house , an aunt or cousins homes when she gets to her hometown and uses their kitchen to prepare the food she usually makes her most requested dish every year …deviled eggs
She takes her egg trays with her , shops when she gets there, and makes a couple dozen eggs
And usually picks up KFC chicken

I hope you enjoy the reunion whatever you decide to take

If you belong to Costco or BJ's, get a few 2 gallon sized jugs of different kinds of pretzels, Chex mix or other munchie snacks. BJ's sells trays of sliced pound cakes in a variety of flavors that are very good, as are their brownie bites. You could get inexpensive plastic bowls or trays at the dollar store to set them out on the table. As other posters have stated, bear in mind that guests might be reluctant to eat something that they fear might not have traveled well (especially for 6 hours).
